Mike Lee: Republicans in Utah 'very upset' over Mitt Romney voting to convict Trump
Fox News ^ | February 6, 2020 | Joshua Nelson

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, said on Thursday that Republicans in Utah are not pleased with the state's other Republican senator, Mitt Romney, after he voted to convict President Trump for abuse of power in the Senate impeachment trial.

“There will be some people who might be happy with it, and they might be called Democrats, for the most part. I think Republicans are very upset about it. And I, for one, disagree with it and disagree with it strongly,” Lee told Shannon Bream on “Fox News at Night.”

Lee pushed back on Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., for praising Romney’s dissenting vote.

“In fact, if you roll back the clock to 2012, you will not see Richard Blumenthal praising Mitt Romney. In fact, you won't see any of that," said Lee.

Mike Lee might not be a 100% Trumper, but I’d rather have him than Pierre Delecto...

Romney is the first Senator ever to vote to impeach the President of his own party.

History 250 year Traitor.

The Great Mormon Traitor. What a distinction.

There is no recall law in Utah.

It requires nothing more than passing one through the legislature and having the governor sign it to have one.

GOP is well beyond 2/3 of both houses of the Utah legislature. And the recall can be via legislature vote, not a public referendum.

You don’t HAVE to wait to primary him out. You could do it sooner.

You would think the UTAH state reps could pass something to impeach/get rid of Romney before 2024.

Or put it on the ballot in November and let the voters decide.

Regrettably, if enacted, a recall law will be declared unconstitutional.

Federal officeholders -- senators and congressmen -- cannot be recalled. This issue has been litigated both in federal court (Frank Church, Idaho, 1967) and state court (Robert Menendez, New Jersey, 2013).

Although Justice Clarence Thomas believes that states should have the right of recall under the 10th Amendment, getting four other justices to agree with him will be a high hill to climb, especially considering the case law already on the books.

Lee and Utah rewarded Carlos Pierre Delecto
for having invented RomneyCARE and RomneyMarriage
which he IMPOSED, and not the Mass. Legislature.

So, Willard changed his name
to Carlos Backstabber Defecto. and SSDD.

They know dam well that bill is nothing but a show.

It has been ruled by the SCOTUS that any recall of a sitting congress person is unconstitutional.

So what are they gonna do? Waste a ton of money having that states justice dept take it to the SCOTUS?

The better thing to do is hound Romney every time he shows his face in public. That and demand the Mormon church to excommunicate him. I would not hold my breath if I were anyone here though, since that Church DID NOT excommunicate Harry Reid, who was without a doubt one of the most crooked bastards ever to walk the halls of congress.

You actually think these (mostly Mormon) Representatives have the stones to stand up to Romney and the church? Not.A.Chance.

It probably wouldn't pass constitutional muster anyway. The most you will get from Utah politicians is cowardly "strong disagreement" with his vote, while they support him privately.

So, the Senator from India is taking advantage of Mitt’s selfish action.

What a pair! Anybody in Utah for the USA?

Some of the Amendments written after the Civil War were poorly written. Goes to show you they were not clearly thought out like the ones written by our Founders. The 14th allowed for birth right citizenship but did not clarify that the parents needed to be American Citizens either born here or brought here as slaves. The 17th allowed for direct election of Senators but did not give the states any kind of remedy for a rogue senator who acts against the best interest or the will of the citizens of their respective states.

You said ‘Same church, same idiology’ ...You’re an Idiot!

Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi claim Catholic Church membership .... does that mean they have the same anti-abortion stance as most Catholics?

Mike Lee is a traitor to American workers. He works tirelessly to import as many cheap Indian tech workers to replace Americans as possible under the law...and is trying to pass a law to mandate even more! He isn’t one iota better than Mittens.

And, frankly, I grew up in upstate NY. 15 or so miles from Palmyra.

Do you care to challenge my knowledge of the early history of the mormons?
