_______________________________________________ Here's what someone at the Pentagon is planning for evacuees stateside:
Travis is around 50 miles from San Francisco.
Miramar is IN San Diego.
Lackland is in San Antonio. An hour to Austin and a couple hours to Houston.
Fort Carson is an hour and 1/2 or less to Denver.
I lived in Mira Mesa just 2.9 miles north the the runway at Miramar from Dec 1983 to Jan 2001. During the heyday of the Tom Gun school. The base is located between State Route 52 on the south, Miramar Road on the north, I-805 on the west and I-15 on the east. If they keep the quarantined persons on the tarmac and use a sealed transport to quarantine facilities, it will probably be Ok. The prevailing wind comes from the west and a large populated area lies E/NE. Offshore breezes will blow over a lot more heavily populated area known as University City.
