I’d even be OK with India. I haven’t met Indians who think every other ethnic group needs to die off so the whole world can be Indian.
I dont think people realize that that the Health Services of the US is a uniformed branch of the government (along with the military and HS groups.)
In a medical emergency, they are perhaps the most powerful group in the country in terms of arrest, detention, and retention.
It is a little amusing to see “the nerds” flex their muscle. It is for the best.
I am much more sympathetic to India.
(But if you’d spent much time there, you wouldn’t want your food, etc., imported from there either.)
India’s problems, in that regard, are fixable.

The disease is crippling China’s economy. You have to wonder if that was the intent only it was intended for the US but escaped into China.It would make a good book anyway.

She says she saw the man taking a selfie and telling passengers around him that he had the coronavirus.
“The flight attendants came, gave him a mask and gloves and just told him that he had to move to the back of the plane” she said.

Anyway, that fellow’s reasoning is correct, but the spreadsheet leads to some flaky results in the right hand columns, possibly exacerbated by the “quality” of the input data, if you get my drift.
One other thought — I don’t know if any of the studies the Chinese doctors have been doing and have published were of enough confirmed infected and then tracked patients to establish a reliable CFR? I’d guess you’d need at least 50, and maybe 100 patients, whose health profiles lined up with the general population. One problem is that even if the doctors were allowed to report thusly, would the study include those getting “poor” care? Hmmm...
