Yes, there is a tremendous difference between the so-called moderate republicans and the democrats. The moderate republicans have been reliable votes for Trump’s judicial appointments. It would be a disaster if they switched sides.

Damn-it there weren't 20 of these COWARDS!

They should have held the vote to let them know they'd have a price to pay at the ballot box for their cowardice!!!

I just convinced myself. There will be plenty of time to claim your pound of flesh. Not here, not now.

Now is the time to be “Presidential”, the time to be “President of ALL the people”.

While President Trump will be addressing the Congress, he is really addressing the “people”.

One strategy, might be to IGNORE the Congress altogether. Ignore impeachment, “Like It Never Even Happened”. (Servpro)

If Mitch hadn’t wanted it, it wouldn’t have happened that way.

-—IGNORE the Congress——

How can you ignore the congress where the women this year can’t make up their minds to wear all black in mourning or virginal white in celebration.

Then again, can you ignore the elephant in the room while giving an address on the “state” of the nation?

Easily. The impeachment is a inconsequential partisan ploy. Trump has tons of other good news to talk about.

RNC called me yesterday wanting $$$.
Told then as long as they support romney, they won’t get a penny. The dude said he understands and finished the call. My guess is they haven’t prepared a script for my answer.

"A lot of us Republicans hate Trump. We would would vote to convict him, but if we did we would lose our Senate seat."

That's a factor. But the bigger factor as Dershowitz pointed out, in 100 years the partisan impeachment will be just a minor stain on our history, or the beginning of the end. If any Dems were really listening they will also vote to acquit.

Actually, I’d like to see the Senate delay the final vote for the same length of time it took Pelosi to sen the articles to the Senate. McConnell could offer to table the whole process, bottle it up in some committee, and leave it all in limbo. The next week he announces, well back to regular business.

Yeah they should probably vote and get it over with but leaving it all in legislative limbo might keep the house from attempting a new impeach effort until the other one is disposed of.( and since the other one is never to be quite disposed of, it stymies any new efforts in the house)

I think a fitting speech would focus on his accomplishments to date, hopeful plans for the future, and address current challenges (maybe some reassurances about Coronavirus). Then maybe 15 seconds near the end to say “those who are so very unhappy with my accomplishments to date can cast their vote on Wednesday, and then again in November”.

Collins, Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee and Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska. So these three made sure this BS would be still hanging in the air during the SOTU, giving Pelosi a gift despite the outrages process the rats inflicted on the country. Bastards.

It was mcturtles back room BIG $ guys that ordered him to extend to hopefully blooded TRUMP up more before the fall!

I heard this morning that Chuckie schumer threatened a bunch of amendments to the impeachment that could run for a week or two so the Candy Ass repubs elected for Wednesday after SOTU.

““Moderate” republicans just need to change parties to democrat.”

Yep, yes, that is so right. In that way, the democrats can take over the Senate and appoint leftist Supreme Court justices that can curse the nation for the next few generations.

Some of you people continuously repeating that nonsense must have your heads three feet up your ass.

Agree. She had guts with Kavanaugh. Made a compelling speech. She didn’t vote “present”.

Yep, needed an excuse to not stand up during the applause lines.

Collins and Murkowski are the Abortion Twins. I would wager both of them murdered one of their unborn children during their pathetic lives.
