A lot of people are running around threads claiming there is no way this could be a bioweapon.
I say an emphatic BS.
Fort Detrick was shut down indefinitely by the CDC due to safety issues concerning biohazards. This is a US military research facility. (dont know if they have reopened)
And we are suppose to believe Commie China bioweapons facility is safer than Fort Detrick?
And we know from 2015 article that countries were most certainly looking at this as a bioweapon. They look at all kinds of things to make as bioweapons. This would have been on the radar. It was already man made in a lab.
Of course, China was looking at it.
As Black Agnes pointed out..there are all kinds of ways this could have been released in the wild via poor construction of that lab in the Province.
If it is a bioweapon it could be much more deadly as pointed out by Top Secret EVEN IF that is fan fiction written based on events.
But in the end, it is not contained. It is deadly. People should be looking at protecting themselves.
I read a Canadian article from a couple of years ago where a Chicom spy was arrested trying to send the virus to China.
It could be a bioweapon.
But it need not be.
Western countries separate the animal pen (feces and earth and all other body fluids), from slaughter. And further separates slaughter from market consumers.
And the people involved in each process rarely have contact. And there are fairly strict regimes and record keeping along the way, along with spot inspections for verification.
In China its all mixed together in the same place and there are no inspection, and fewer rules.
China is the perfect soup for zoonotic viral evolution and refinement.
None better could be designed by the best scientists.
There are 2 (TWO) bio-weapons labs near Wusan
