China is 41 dead for 1400 cases (officially) which works out to .03% not 4.0%
Do you trust the numbers from China?
WHO says it’s 4%.
Not that WHO is necessarily trustworthy. But I trust them more than China.
Original SARS was about 10%
0.03% is less than the garden variety influenza mortality rate.
Do you think the ChiComs would be basically crashing their economy and quarantining 50M+ people over the flu?
It’s an honest question.
You forgot to multiply by 100 to get the percentage, not the fraction. For example, 50 out of 100, which is 50% comes out as 0.5 in a fraction.
No, that would be 3%, not .03%. However, 1) we don’t know if the # of deaths is accurate - it’s China 2) people could still die out of the 1400 and 3) we don’t know if the # who have it (1400) is accurate either. So we just don’t know.
You don’t know how to do mathematics, or you’re in a hurry.
The % sign stands for the French “per cent” literally “per hundred”.
100% = 1.00
50% = 0.50
10% = 0.10
4%= 0.04
3%=0.03
41/1400 ~0.03 —> 3%
