Elizabeth Warren was confronted by an angry father at a campaign event in Iowa by an angry father who took issue with her plan to forgive student loan debts.
Arguing that those who paid for college tuition themselves would be screwed by her proposal, he confronted the Democratic senator on Monday at a presidential campaign town hall in Grimes, Iowa.
Having waited patiently in line for a photo, he said: I just wanted to ask one question. My daughter is getting out of school. I've saved all my money. She doesn't have any student loans. Am I going to get my money back?
Of course not, Senator Warren replied.

Someone has to pay her outrageous salary while she was a prof.
Here is the problem squaw, everyone will get a loan and not pay it back. Hard for you to understand because it is basically Indian taking. Not Indian giving.
Yep if we did without and paid our own way and not depended on public support we always get screwed.
The democrats make sure of it.
You spent $75,000 a year for over 4 years for your son’s college education? That’s insane unless he earned a degree in a field that pays a lot of money so he can pay you back.
My nephew went to community college for 2 years, then state college for 2 more years. He lived at home and worked part time. He has zero debt and a job that pays over $100,000.
It’s unfair to take money from people who earn it and give it to those who don’t.
Yes it is unfair. But it is straight out of Karl Marx.
Dem party morphed into the CPUSA in 2008.
They feel that they don’t need to hide that anymore.
The Bernie Bro Kyle Jurek says that is why Sanders wants to send everyone to a College (Re)Education for free.
he should have thrown in his daughter was not a fake minority indian...
We told our kids we would loan them money and we expect them to pay it back.
With four kids and one income, there’s no way we could save enough to pay their tuition. One is making almost what I do a year and a half after graduation. He paid all his debt in a year.
When Obama pulled the student loan program from the private sector into the government control, it set off an escalation of tuitions to match the greed of the colleges.
If the government will lend the student whatever they need to pay tuition, then tuitions fees rose accordingly and astronomically. Degree programs were added to take advantage of the tuition revenue. Most of those new programs provided degrees in areas where society does not have jobs that pay for that knowledge, like women's studies, LGBT studies, social justice welfare studies, etc.
Students ended up with worthless degrees that cost tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars with no way to pay them back.
Now fake Indian woman is pandering to the voters to tax the uber-wealthy $640 billion to wipe those students out. Doesn't teach much about economics or personal responsibility thought. Another democRAT "free" stuff program to get votes.
This issue with the responsible voters, like the man who asked if he was going to get his hard-earned money back and her dismissive , "Of course not!" answer will come back to bite this phony Indian in her butt.
Exactly. I fail to understand the mentality that it is the parents responsibility to pay for their adult children’s higher education.
They are adults and should be making adult decisions. Too many college kids are suffering delayed adolescence and the colleges enable that.
Only one of mine did the traditional four year college routine. His college had apartments, not dorms. Want to eat? There’s the kitchen.
No sports teams sucking up cash. Very little extracurricular nonsense and almost no PC garbage. Engineering students learning to be engineers. No fluff classes and fluff degrees. 500 students.
The school has a 90 day employment guarantee upon graduation. They almost never pay out.
He had a job in two weeks and two interviews.
The colleges have no skin in the game. Make the college liable for all or part of the student loans.
