Brexit is finally, officially happening for real this time.
The United Kingdom has passed the legislation to make the current Brexit deal with the European Union official UK law, paving the way for the countrys exit from the EU on January 31.
The House of Commons the lower, elected chamber once the source of endless Brexit drama quietly and quickly approved the bill on January 9. The House of Lords, the unelected upper chamber, approved the legislation this week with amendments. But the House of Commons overturned the changes on Wednesday, and the House of Lords relented and agreed to accept the legislation without tweaks.
With Parliament agreed, the legislation received royal assent on Thursday, allowing the Queen to give formal approval to a British exit (after approving one of a different sort this month).

God save the Queen and the United Kingdom. Now, let's make a (trade) deal for the ages.

But do we have a date for “Megxit”, for Harry and what’s her face to depart the UK?
To: NohSpinZone
Hopefully this will motivate other EU members to do the same. Time for the EU to disappear.

Since its Vox I presume this continues with 39 paragraphs of wailing and gnashing of teeth.

The House of Lords lost its power to actually legislate years/decades ago. They can and do discuss and propose, as they did here, but it only works if the Commons agrees.

I use and/or consume UK products on a daily basis. If Trump does a YUGE trade deal with the UK, cue applauding Kermit!

The Parliament Act of 1911 took away the Lords power to kill legislation. If they amend a Commons bill, it can change it back and the Lords have to accept it.
The original Brexit bill was passed again, accepted by the Lords and has now been given the Royal Assent.

Actually, isn’t this Brexit II? The first one occurred in the late 1700’s when they left a little country called America.

But do we have a date for Megxit, for Harry and whats her face to depart the UK? I think that she is already in residence in Canada and he soon will be. I think they are buying a mansion in British Columbia. Note: I like that we are leaving the naym blank, it makes me smile!
As for Brexit, thank God that Corbyn (Labour) made the election easy in spite of the breathless polls(ters)!

U.K. will be out but it still remains to be seen if they will be under.

Now they will do what they should have done 40 years ago with the entire operation. Make some trade deals and keep their sovereignty. When the rest of group sees how well the Brits do, the EU will disintegrate.
What a terrible price has been paid for allowing an unelected central cabal run Europe into the ground.

How many years and how many elections has it taken for the British government to finally do what the people voted for? It's abundantly clear throughout the West that Leftists, aided by their allies in government bureaucracies and the media, are determined to thwart the will of the people if that will happens to differ from what the Leftists want. We see it with Brexit, we see it with Trump and the ongoing Democrat attempts to suborn his presidency.
The biggest threat to Western democracy in 2020 is Western leftists.
