Kiev (AFP) - Ukraine's president on Monday urged Tehran to hand over the black box flight recorders of a passenger plane mistakenly shot down by Iranian forces during a spike in tensions with Washington.

President Volodymyr Zelensky met Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami in Kiev after Tehran suggested it would keep the black boxes.

Zelensky told the minister "Ukraine has the technical capacity and experienced specialists" to read the information on the Boeing flight recorders, the presidency said in a statement.

Iranian "representatives" would shortly travel to Ukraine "to acquaint themselves with those technical capacities.

"The parties agreed that all debris from the aircraft... must be returned to Ukraine," the statement said, adding that the issue of compensation for families of the dead had been raised.

Zelensky noted that Tehran had "fully cooperated" and kept "most" of the promises made after the crash.

Hasn't Iran already fessed up? I don't see the big deal about handing them over.

they would still be insisting it was engine failure if there wasn’t multiple videos of the actual shoot down.

I guess you might say that the Iranians don't WANT to hand them over, so they won't.
Didn't you ever see the movies about the classic battles between the Persians and the Greeks?
Movies: "300" and "300 the Rise of an Empire"

Internet: The Persian wars against Greece were caused because the Darius, the Persian king, wanted to expand their empire. The wars took place in the early 5th century B.C. but the first attack was around 490 B.C. but the Persians lost. King Darius was humiliated and wanted to continue on which caused the series of wars.

The Persians/Iranians have been the Asian PAIN IN THE BUTT for a long, long, long time. Nothing has changed.

Was the shooting down of the Ukrainian airline plane leaving Tehran the capital of Iran filled with people leaving it, ordered ? It would appear many Iranians feel that it was, and no accident.

According to the Koran, Moslem clergy have and do authorize followers to execute anyone in their unholy war against those who believe in free will and refuse to become moslem a form of government known as a theocracy demanding absolute conformity, Those who violate its precepts, laws, who’s radical theological detestable assertions are based on tribal customs and its credo known as Sharia face death or torture.

While claiming monotheism its disgusting theocratic assertions never has been questioned or condemned by leading monotheistic religious leaders like Pope Francis. Which allows followers obey what they claim are Our Creator’s orders which has them authorized by God to execute unbelievers including those fleeing the area they control.
