All this stat shows is only a very few people have the knack for making big money.
Or the ambition to make big money, and to take the risks necessary to achieve such wealth.
Is Marketwatch advocating Marxist redistribution?
That isn’t good investment advice.
Unless my math is totally off, if each of those 4.6 billion people had only $1,170, their combined wealth would be equal to the combined wealth of the billionaires (assuming the billionaires have an average of $2.5 billion each). What that says, in my opinion, is that there is a lot of poverty in the world. I would also put forth that it is in those countries, like Venezuela, and other totalitarian government-run nations that have the biggest gap between the rich (the government) and the poor.
If all the money I the world was distributed equally, within 3 generations it would be in similar hands.
Money making and accumulation of wealth are skills highly correlated to IQ and certain social attributes.
Money, like IQ, is racist.
I've made enough money to never be a burden to anyone. Now I'm enjoying life.
The rich gets so guilty for being wealthy or pretend to be. Maybe they are just playing leftist so the left doesn’t take their money. I would rather have a capitalist system as opposed to this BS equality scheme where everybody will be poor and we would still have the rich just in a different system.
2,153 billionaires
All right, I give up. Let’s tax these 2,153 volunteers into absolute abject poverty. Just to be fair. And Stephen King. and Bill Gates. If being rich is so offensive to these people, let’s do them a favor. I believe Obama... Most of theses weenies got to be billionaires by winning the “pay to play” games in our largest cities, and they owe their fortunes to corruption and cheating (”somebody helped you”).
Turn enough them from billionaires/millionaires back into zeroes, and we can quit hearing them whine about how THEIR success legitimizes the state taxing ME into poverty.
