Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is as of now including in the U.S. Senate impeachment trial rules a “kill switch” that effectively allows for the president’s legal team to seek an immediate verdict or dismissal of the case should Democrats engage in any shenanigans like they did in the House process.
The revelation comes after the House finally late last week formally sent the Articles of Impeachment it adopted before Christmas—after holding them for more than a month without transmission—to the U.S. Senate, thereby triggering the start of a Senate trial. The Senate will formally commence its trial procedures in votes this coming week, and while some Republicans want to outright dismiss the charges altogether from the outset, others believe a trial should take place.
In so finally transmitting the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also named impeachment case managers—the Democrats who will present and manage the House’s case to the Senate—last week. They include House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY). Both Schiff and Nadler were widely panned for the highly unfair process they ran in the House of Representatives, and many Senate Republicans do not trust them to refrain from playing games that seek to make the Senate trial unfair to the president as the highly partisan process in the House ended up.
Republicans on the House side, who were essentially powerless to stop the Democrats’ shenanigans since they are in the minority in the lower chamber, are warning Senate Republicans to be on the lookout for Schiff’s gamesmanship and that from his ilk.

Yup. Just like the fuster-cluck House investigation, a Senate trial will be FUBAR. These people will get twisted in legal knots requesting subpoenas, FISA warrants, depositions, search warrants, lie detector tests, DNA samples, Ancestry.com references, room passes and potty breaks.
The unwashed, and some here, will eat this up and stay glued to watching MSNBC for months... complaining, when it could haves been squashed on day one with a dismissal.
Would work great if the GOP majority was in the majority. But, they have 4 back stabbers in Collins, Murkowsky, Lee and that horrible Romney from Utah.
I doubt they will amonish Schiff in any way. Apparently he is allowed to say anything and no one has the balls to counter. Did Schiff turn over all the transcripts from his secret hearings? It seems this would be allowable evidence since it could be fully exculpating. Does that matter anymore? Think Flynn!

Personally Mitch, have someone in the Senate chamber with a sniper rifle that will be pointed at the head of any liberal speaking and tell the left that if they dare try any crap like they did in the Kavenaugh trial, they will give the President an option for a kill shot. Could it be possible that, at the start, someone [coughsekulowcough] mentions the campaigning Senators and says “the R word”?
What if Bernie said “screw it” and recused himself and returned to the campaign trail?
Would the other three candidate senators do the same?

This tactic is as juvenile as it gets. If dismissal is legitimate, which it clearly is, a motion to dismiss (MTD) stands on its own merits and doesn't become triggered only by Dem's misbehavior.
I doubt the rule is written anything like what is described above. There are other situations and events far more legitimate that could trigger a motion the dismiss than misbehavior by Democrat managers or Senators. For example, any delays caused by resistance of witnesses that would delay the trial by more than a few days. Let's say Trump's defense calls Hunter Biden as a witness, and Hunter disappears or "lawyers up" in a legal battle that could take a month or more, even if "fast tracked" to SCOTUS. Or Schiff refuses to release video tapes of deposition/testimony from his 'secret closed door hearings', including Michael Atkinson. Or Schiff's staff members who handled the 'whistle blower" refuse to cooperate. There are dozens of alternate scenarios that would delay the trial or deny Trump the constitutional "right to a defense", and should trigger Mitch's Kill Switch.
A motion to dismiss over delays would be fully legitimate. As McConnell has repeatedly noted, it was the House's job to investigate, serve subpoenas, depose and interview witnesses, etc. They realized they didn't have time to get it done before the election, so they rushed through and punted the job to the Senate. Mitch isn't likely to allow delays while they work through subpoenas, appeals, fights over discovery, etc.
Yes, these RINOcrat floaters will definitely clog any attempt to flush the Demonicrats down the toilet.
