Four teachers from a Los Angeles-area school sued Delta Air Lines on Friday, saying they were exposed to jet fuel when a plane with engine trouble dumped its fuel over a densely populated area, including several schools, while making an emergency return to the airport.
At a news conference, the teachers described the fuel as drizzling down like raindrops with overwhelming fumes. They said their panicked students screamed and cried.
The plaintiffs could feel the fuel on their clothes, their flesh, their eyes and their skin, said the teachers attorney, Gloria Allred, who noted that her firm may add teachers or students to the lawsuit.

I would sue for being permanently disfigured
Red’s probably gonna end up with a very big chunk of a very big settlement.
Much better if the plane crashed and killed everybody aboard.
Calling BS. Atomized Jet A will evaporate before it could hit the ground.
Good Grief.
Sh!t happens.
If the plane had crashed and killed the people on board, people like this would be suing because the pilot DIDN’T dump fuel.
And this required a news conference?
I don’t know. I want to hear from some more Bobs first.
No, it’s about lawyers getting money from an airline
Havent seen Gloria in awhile. Guess she needs the money!
Guess she’d rather see the passengers become crispy critters if something went wrong on the landing. It’s unfortunate that it dumped over the school, but the pilot made the right decision.
Gloria Allred<<<
That explains everything.
It ain't a Bobquorum until BobL & Bob434 have weighed in...

LOL!

...
I read about this the other day.
The plane did not go to a normal fuel dumping area where they would be high enough and over an unpopulated area.
They dumped fuel on final approach instead at a little over 2000 feet and over a heavily populated area. They didn’t break any FAA rules, but they didn’t follow standard procedure either. They were low enough that the fuel did land on people.
When I was a kid, an Air Force pilot at Tyndall rode his jet fighter down to miss an elementary school.
Of course he was killed.
It looks like they had magic ugly juice dumped on them, not jet fuel.
:-)
