“ The Royal Family are said to be “hurt” at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s announcement they will step back as senior royals.”

I’m sure the queen was so upset that she had to have a couple extra glasses of Moët & Chandon.

Harry does not need to show the Royals anything -— Prince Edward (Elizabeth II’s youngest son) and his wife and family left the “royal” life years ago. Both he and his wife work (the theater business I believe) and have been paying their own way for quite some time.

Also, the whole ranking of the children and “heir to the spare” dynamic for her young son is just too pointless to tolerate.

Harry & Meghan's child has pretty much no chance of being King. It isn't a "ranking" of the children; there is an order, a tradition to how the Crown is passed down to future generations. After Elizabeth, comes Charles, after Charles, comes William, after William, his son, George. After George, any children he may have, then any children they may have.

William and Kate's children and grandchildren, means that "Archie" has about zero chance of being King.

Again, this is not a "ranking" as much as it is a tradition and the legal way that the Crown is passed from one generation to another.

split the brothers, Harry and William

This is really the saddest part of this farce. Since their Mother's death, these two brothers have been very close to one another. I hope when Meaghan has done her damage and divorces him for greener pastures, that the brothers can patch things up.

Edward and his wife Sophie did try to work in private businesses after they were married but they got caught in some embarrassing situations and had to give up their private work. Both have worked for the Queen for years now and Sophie is said to be a reliable and favored help and companion to her mother-in-law.

This was an insane decision who’s plot began before Archie was a twinkle in Meghan’s eye. There cannot be two kings. And as much as the couple want to do it, there cannot be two Courts. A Prince cannot be a part-time Prince - in it only the good bits. And a subject cannot be seen to be subversive to the Monarchy. It’s a good thing this is 2020 because 200 years ago Harry would have been dispatched to some outpost to suddenly ‘die heroically in service to the Queen’, his wife sent to a nunnery never to be heard from again and Baby Archie Fauntleroy wouldn’t have survived to maturity. It’s one thing to want to go into seclusion with royal permission; to follow protocols; quite another to try to usurp the Crown for the purposes of commercializing royal status for private gain at the expense of the Crown.
Harry asked an audience with the Queen after his arrival back from Canada during which the Queen, as Monarch, is said to have ordered her grandson not to make a public announcement - an announcement she heard on the telly. The Prince of Wales also said to have ordered his son to set to paper the details of the latest in what has become an endless string of demands, and present a coherent plan for discussion before making any announcement. Both royals were openly defied. A Monarch was defied. Not by a commoner, not by a military officer, but by a royal who more than any has a duty to the Crown. The response will be as brutal as the defiance.
As for running off to the wilderness to count fairy tale clouds, there’s that pesky 500 yr old law that the Monarch has final custody of minor grandchildren. That would include big things, like where they live and are schooled, and little things, like granting permission for their name or likeness being used on any product, or the inference of royalty being incorporated into product, such as trademarks for 100 products from hoodies to pajamas, obtained without the Queen’s knowledge six months ago, or a website, sussexroyals, plotted a year ago and newly launched. And that’s just for starters. Not very good news for a couple who thought they could ghost a Queen.
The Royal Family display at Madame Tousauds, is, as of this morning’s opening, absent the wax figures of the couple. There is an empty space. It’s quite noticeable, and didn’t happen without a phone call being made. The Queen is said to have pulled Harry’s annual allowance. Charles is said to be so angry he may pull the duchy allotment which doesn’t quite cover the costs of their current personal staff. Nor can he count on his brother, who tried to reach out after the African trip it is said, and was rejected. And if Diana were alive, she’d pull her allotment too after giving Harry the scolding of his life. And then there’s the public - begged for a public display of sympathy during that Africa tour, which was shown in spades, only to be put on the ghost list themselves.
There was a right way to do this and a wrong way. These two went straight off the cliff. It may turn out to be a deep abyss. We’ll see how much product ghosts want to purchase but the perspiration stains weren’t airbrushed out of her Canada Commission pics today if that’s any indication of the current sentiment on the street. The brits may complain about the royal family in general, but they love their Queen and won’t stand for her being attacked this way.

Exactly. And I just find that dynamic toxic and harmful for the child who had no choice in being born into the family and then subtly treated as lesser than during his formative years.

Archie is better off in Canada and growing up with his own strong sense of identity separate from the RF. How the couple and Palace are handling the whole move out debacle though is another story. It’s only been a day. Things will smooth out.

"Harry is a nobody. He's not even Charles's son. "

Really? Whose son is he?

Mark my words, Halfwit and MeGain will divorce at some point, and those two idiots will make Archie’s life miserable. He would be better off to be fostered by William and Catherine.

Might want to check that. He was deployed on the ground in Afghanistan as a ground pounder until an Australian journalist found him and blew his cover. From Wikipedia:

This was confirmed in February of the following year, when the British Ministry of Defence revealed that Harry had been secretly deployed as a Forward Air Controller to Helmand Province in Afghanistan for the previous ten weeks.[35][36] The revelation came after the media – notably, German newspaper Bild and Australian magazine New Idea[37][38] – breached the blackout placed over the information by the Canadian and British authorities.[39] It was later reported that Harry helped Gurkha troops repel an attack from Taliban insurgents,[40] and performed patrol duty in hostile areas while in Afghanistan.[41][42][43]

So, yeah, he does have ground trigger time on the two way live fire range. There were reports at the time that he was rather disgusted at getting pulled out because of the stupid press.

See my immediately prior post - it was his *second* deployment to Afghanistan that was in air units, but his first one, cut short by idiot journalists, was as a ground pounder.

Windsor, I believe.

His grandmother, at least, served as “Elizabeth Windsor” during WW2, starting off as the equivalent of 2nd Lieutenant in the women’s branch of the British Army and making the equivalent of Captain by the end of the war.
