The escalation of hostility between the United States and Iran after the U.S. assassination of a top Iranian military commander is the top news story so far this year. The potential repercussions of an open conflict would be numerous, and now analysts are warning they will not be limited to the oil market, but would spill into other energy products too, such as LNG.
Irans neighbor Qatar was until recently the worlds largest supplier of liquefied natural gas. Last year, according to S&P Global Platts figures, Qatar supplied 22 percent of the global LNG. In the event of a war, this supply could be disrupted.

Oil back down to $61. Guess iran has shot it’s load and it’s impotent.
Personally I think this is over and the iranians will finally want to sit down and talk now that the world has seen they are just a small can’t do chit country with nothing but oppressed people and oil that WE don’t need.
lng could explode...
news at noon...
How Ukraine coincidental?
Or, they may not.
Wait - I thought the US was the largest producers of NG. Would that be default make us the largest producers of LNG - by simply liquefying it?
More scare tactics, perhaps?
Whatever you do Iran...dont throw us into that briar patch.
Heh, heh.
Might be good for our economy if we had ever bothered to build some friggin’ export terminals.
A few additional pieces to the LNG puzzle.
U.S. LNG exports more than quintupled from 2016 to 2018,
The growth of U.S. natural gas production led by increased shale production has been transformative, not only domestically but globally. And its only the beginning.
“The United States currently the third largest exporter of liquefied natural gas will surpass Australia and Qatar to become the world’s largest exporter of LNG within five years, according to a recent International Energy Agency report. The United States Will Continue to Rapidly Grow Its LNG Exports.”
“In 2003, U.S. natural gas production represented about 85 percent and natural gas imports nearly 18 percent of the total natural gas consumed in the country, according to the Energy Information Administration. But the ability to produce natural gas from shale has transformed the United States from a position of energy scarcity to one that enables it to not only meet its own demand, but supply the world with this important resource as well.”

Following these oil price articles for the last few weeks. Crap churn.
Yep - and Market is positive again this morning...looks like they trust president Trump.
It's a modern miracle that LNG tankers don't explode more often. :^) Give the Iranians time, they'll blow up one, and then it will be on. For about five hours. BTW National Fuel Gas (NFG) is one of the companies that Andrew Cuomo's been shaking down (fracking gas).
MSNBC's Larry O'Donnell kicked things off with this little gem, openly urging the Mullahs to take revenge on the bad Orange Man in the White House: Lawrence O'Donnell " @Lawrence Trump wagged the dog. Now the dog...
Trump: LNG prices do not explode until WE say they explode
