By TZVI JOFFRE JANUARY 8, 2020 01:21
Initial reports stated that 9 rockets hit the Ain al-Assad airbase on Tuesday. The base hosts American soldiers.
Heavy missile attacks were carried out by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps on the Ain al-Assad air base in Iraq that hosts both Iraqi and US soldiers on Tuesday night. Nine missiles hit the airbase, according to Al-Hadath.

You are back and forth. Back channel diplomacy exists, ok. Trump did not back channel with the ayatollah. Period. If you think being buddy buddy with Putin would get trump impeached, what do you think making secret deals with murdering mullahs would get him? That aint trump. After three years anyone with eyes should know that.
Im out. Good night.
If thats what you want to believe.
I think by shortening the pylons.

Seems that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps elements involved need cluster bomb thank yous.
They might need a couple hundred cruise missiles to see what a good guidance system looks like!
The tell is the manifest
This is a regime that thinks nothing of shooting down a plane full of people. Oh wait... it was an accident.
So they struck two non-shiite areas probably. Dont want to upset their own injuns.
Money is why westerners flock to Dubai. I lived there for 2 years and loved it.
Not exactly. The Emiratis, about 15% of Dubai’s population are Sunni. About 750,000 Iranians live in Dubai, fleeing Iran for economic or political reasons. The remaining Dubai population are laborers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Philippines, etc. and westerners that are mostly professional class. There are Shia mosques, Hindu temples and Christian churches in Dubai. The UAE is very diverse and tolerant by middle east standards.
Attacking Dubai is an opportunity to remove 750,000 dissidents and a potential new government in waiting only 55 miles from Iran.
The UAE has military alliances with (not inclusive) UK, France, and the U.S. and is a member of the GCC.
Does Iran have a central/world bank? Last I remember there’s very few countries that don’t, and they’re the world’s boogeymen.
Think about it. If all of a sudden power plants start tripping and there is no evidence of who is doing it, who will be blamed? The LEADER will be blamed! It is called COVERT action. If the US bombs Iran, THEN support for Khamenei and the mullahs will rise in popularity.
Great photo - that prompted me to look at sat image - lots of stuff there, including an on-base auto dealership!
https://militaryautosource.com/location/MAS-Camp-Al-Asad
Hilarious last review (~5:20 am CST) of the dealership, on Google...
The camp is near the Euphrates River, some population along river, plenty of people at risk if typically errant old Soviet / Russian / Ukrainian rockets were used, even for an intended “near miss” as some here have speculated.
“If this attack was inconsequential, no damage, no lose of life, and can be fixed with bulldozers filling holes, no response may be necessary - yet.”
Use an EC-130, take over their TV and radio networks and tell them better luck next time.
now confirmed
Regarding type(s) of missiles used, it's been reported, that Fateh-110 short-range ballistic missiles were used (at least, in part).
A very interesting story from a year ago discusses General Qassam Suleimani, Israel, older Scuds and the Fateh-110 (both surface to surface and anti-ship versions) with an alleged accuracy of 100 to 250 meters.
There are biblical prophesies concerning the destruction of Elam. The portion of land associated with Elam sits in modern day Iran, and it’s also where their nuclear reactors are built. Is that where these tremors were felt? Is so, something bad could happen there....
Noted - Thanks for the links!
Eh?
IF the rockets are as posted upstream (inaccurate /unreliable), then in shooting that many near bases with US personnel, the Iranians would be taking an insane risk, by telling us, in effect "Oh, hey, just a little demo tonight" and then who knows what might be hit. They'd be confirming (ok, reconfirming) by recklessness if not more (lying bastards) that they are mad dogs who need to be drilled right between the eyes. Your theory only works if they used precision munitions and missed by wide margins, with no US intercepts, or used "less" and shot into empty desert 10-20 miles from anything. To me, Pres. Trump's tweet implied some sort of damage somewhere, apparently confirmed by later reports, making that last seem unlikely. The "all is well" may only have meant the attack was relatively ineffective, and there appeared to be no immediate follow up.
I'm inclined to think the mullahs still believe Trump is too damaged politically to respond in a manner that will take Iran's military down, and they believe they can draw us into a prolonged tit for tat that will damage Trump further.
uh, everybody’s already admitted that this was the case, Trump gave permission for a symbolic attack if it was harmless, then Iran warned Iraq and did exactly that... to assert otherwise is to be in open defiance of all this
