Let’s get this ball rolling. I want to see Nancy get whooped on this.

Uh, what dumbassery. Make nanzi hand over the paperwork then take it under consideration for an unspecified length of time. Or simply dismiss it.😳

I can’t figure out why Manchin hasn’t switched parties yet. Stay tuned. May still happen.

I remember back then that everyone thought the "trial" in the Senate (under these rules) was a sham with a preconceived outcome. Some loved that, some hated it. But that is indeed what it was.

Good move to pull them out, especially since those old Dem farts that go back that far will surely have voted Yes for them back then.

Just issue a ruling acquitting the president, saying no articles of impeachment were presented nor any evidence the President did anything wrong.

Good..let’s end this nonsense NOW..no witnesses, just say “We vote for the acquittal of the President of the United States” end of story..if the Dems want to start this insanity in the house again fine who cares..but this craziness dies in the Senate

...but Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski didn’t take the bait...

Watch for the Dem pressure on these two when the Senate does vote on witnesses. The vote now is just kicking the can down the road.

Hope someone stuffs Schumer after the vote.

Let’s see if Chucky Schmucky Schumer votes against them this time, after he voted for them in 1999. I’m wondering if all Dems will vote present, or just go for Nay. Maybe we’ll be lucky, and they’ll all storm out, and never come back.

NO TRIAL, just dismiss. I don’t trust McConnell and Graham. Never did.

Pass Senator Josh Hawley’s proposed changes to Senate rules. That will put the kibosh on Democrats in the House.

Opening arguments? For what? To pontificate before the cameras? BS! Americans are pissed enough already!

What a colossal waste of time!

I have a strong feeling that Collins and Murkowski and Romney HEARD FROM THE VOTERS OF THEIR RESPECTIVE STATES.

This feeling of wanting to get this “thing” done is bipartisan and Americans want this to go the way of the car phone.

seeking witnesses and documents until after opening arguments are made,

So there's gonna be a limit on how long and far they can fish! Something they haven't had for 3+ years now.

Romney’s popping his head up trying real hard to be significant.

“The vote to start the trial would be held after the House sends over the articles of impeachment. …”

What does this mean?

I still think the Senate’s response to any questions of impeachment is “what impeachment? the House has not delivered any Articles of Impeachment; nothing to discuss.” Once received, McConnell moves to begin trial _next_day_ (like 12:01 AM), with immediate dismissal if House Managers are not physically present.
