On Sundays broadcast of ABCs This Week, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the Trump administration is cleaning up the mess the Obama administration created in Iran.
Partial transcript as follows:
STEPHANOPOULOS: Theres also the question going forward if you take any new action against Iran is congressional authorization needed. Former Vice-President Biden spoke about that yesterday. Lets listen.
(BEGIN VIDEOCLIP)
JOE BIDEN, FORMER VICE-PRESIDENT: Im going to make it clear, President Trump has no authority to take us to a military conflict with Iran, period. The bottom line is any further action against Iran requires congressional authorization.
(END VIDEOCLIP)
STEPHANOPOULOS: Will the president go to Congress before taking new military action against Iran?
POMPEO: Boy, its really something to hear the vice-president from the previous administration be critical of this administrations policy of Iran. Were having to clean up their mess, George. Well do everything required under the law to bring us into compliance with all the relevant constitutional legal provisions with respect to our duties to the legislative branch.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Does that mean youll seek new authorizations or no?

And the mess Bush created in Iraq.
George and Margaret Brennan did all they could to argue with Pompeo -
The Kenyan from Indonesia should never have been allowed to usurp the office the Constitution says he may not hold, regardless of how popular he may be.
Im still surprised that the fault line responsible for the Haitian earthquake wasnt dubbed the Bushs Fault.
Obama stood with Islam
It is a mistake to think the Iranian people support Iran’s leaders. They are a beaten people.
From a friend who lived there:
All food distribution is controlled by the government and to get coupons to allow your family to eat, citizens must show up at rallies and ‘vigorously’ protest against The United States and Israel.
Head counting is done and if some of the family doesn’t show or if the protesting appears unenthusiastic, no food coupons are awarded to that family for that week.
After the new government came to power in 1979, the only people allowed to leave the country were those with proven track records of anti-American sentiments. Basically, they exported their hatred.
Death by starvation is an excellent deterrent against lackluster protesters.
Also, any sharing or black-marketing of food is hunted and punished with no mercy.
The incongruity it that guy is repulsive. Dishonest conniving creep whose had a lifetime of getting away with it.
“And the mess Bush created in Iraq”.
Amen to that.
I’m surprised GW Bush hasn’t condemned DJT for taking out Soleimani (sp). But the day is young.
Jeb will.
“The incongruity it that guy is repulsive. Dishonest conniving creep whose had a lifetime of getting away with it”.
That’s the damned truth. Everything about him is repulsive. He’s pure Evil.
He’s a master of Taqiyya and that has taken him a long way.
Between Carter, Clinton, both Bushs, and Obama, we are lucky the universe isn’t effed up.
Probably. That whole family is f’d up.

Unless you were there, or were involved with intel, you can’t know what was happening in the middle east around that time and who the players were unless you heard it from a media that had an agenda to attack Bush. And they went after him in more ways than I can count.
And if you were there, you knew they were collecting weapons and evidence of them all over the country and our intel was putting people like Bin Laden and Abu Nidal in Baghdad to receive treatment and have a good visit with Saddam along with funds. The problem with Iraq was more than just ours as 49 other nation voluntarily joined us and 5 of those had boots on the ground with four other supporting us in the area with post/base support and people.
Saddam Hussein provided bases, training camps, safe heaven and financial support to terrorist groups fighting the governments of neighboring Turkey and Iran, as well as to Palestinian terror groups. He, also, passed weapons to Osama bin Ladens Al-Qaeda network. Iraq helped the Iranian dissident group Mujahadeen-e-Khalq who slaughtered over 300 people in numerous hits in the early 90’s, the Kurdistan Workers Party, and hosted the mercenary Abu Nidal Organization among many other Palestinian groups most trying to destroy Israel. They also protected Abdul Rahman Yasin, who was on the FBIs “most wanted terrorists” list for his role in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
This sound like the head of a country that needed to stay? He stole from, tortured, and murdered hundreds, possible thousands, that were never talked about. He set up impregnating locations for his soldiers to do so to women in Kuwait from pre-teen to senior citizens so they would be turned away from their country. (And that I personally saw when we had to go in) The guy was a animal and should not have been allow to do the things he did.
You also could look up when the first of the weapons trades and use were in the middle east. They were passed from countries to Iraq prior to the 1980’s and Iraq had been working with them from the early 1960’s. Bush didn’t make a mess, he tried to clean up one that was spreading rapidly to our shores.

Yep - Bush’s Daddy “did something” in Iraq and decided to stop just short of Baghdad - then the most recent Bush did a lot of talking about shock and awe and stopped short of actually delivering on it...they did as much harm as Carter did when he got rid of the Shah...
That’s the dogma, but it is drivel
