It has been an emotional start to the new year for Rocio Rebollar Gomez and her family.
On Thursday, after 31 years in the United States, a country where she had built a life and raised three children, including a son now in the United States Army, Ms. Gomez was deported to Tijuana, Mexico, where she had little family left.
That son, Second Lt. Gibram Cruz, 30, who has been in the Army for five years and rushed to be with her the day after Christmas, said he was shocked at the way his mother was treated and called the actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement completely inhumane.

...unless part of that time was enlisted.
31 years, eh? So she was attracted by the Reagan amnesty and assumed there would eventually be another one, right?
The ironic thing would be if her immigration status turned up during his security background investigation while he went through the infantry officer basic course as a second lieutenant at Fort Benning.

I’m with you. Legal immigrants get hammered because our country CATERS to liars.
I don’t think so. She had 30 years to attempt mitigation . Did she do anything ?
That settles it. She’s a criminal . Byebye!
security clearances leave no stone unturned...
What is the reason for no Green Card? I know multiple people who got their spouses Green Cards within a year, with their temporary permanent cards w/work permits within two months.
In the Era of The Greatest Fraud Ever laws didnt matter. Is that when this son of a criminal illegal alien invader signed up ?
31 years and in all that time she did not once try to become an American citizen and make it right?
bye bye bitch
For commission to the army
Requirements
-A college graduate with at least a four-year degree.
-Must not have more than six years of Active Federal Service (AFS) upon arrival at OCS.
-Between 19 and 32 years old (you must enter active duty or ship to training by your 33rd birthday and accept commission prior to age 34)
-Eligible for a secret security clearance.
Cant get a security clearance if youre aiding and abetting a parent who is a repeat federal criminal
Some people let this guy slip in. To remain a 2lt for five years.
“” “” She gave the US an Army officer. I should think that would be more than enough to mitigate the circumstances.”” “”
If only she was a cartel member and a Democrat donor. Otherwise no luck.
Thats horrible. Sorry for the difficulties you are going through.
5 years and hes still a Second Lt.? Something is wrong with this picture.
Something tells me the numbers dont add up in his favor. Maybe OCS after a year or two as enlisted but 5 years, 2nd Lt. sounds like his future in the Army is going to be brief. Something else that is not going to support his promotion is making waves and taking his case to the public. You dont do stupid things like that if you think you have a future in the Army.
That is my question 31 years and she has done NOTHING to become legal!!! I dont feel a damned bit sorry for her!!{
I was a Security Manager on a training base - surprising how many young troops being processed for clearances discovered that their Moms lied to them when they said they were legal citizens.
so did you get married in a foreign country or bring her to USA on fiance visa and get married in us?

It took 18 months for the US Embassy in Japan to issue a green card to Mrs. VanShuyten. Thats after all the paperwork, fees and interviews.
Be patient.
