Attacking the wrong target is what one expects from psychopaths.
The USA attack us. We attack Israel.
Israel is an easier and more accessible target for them. Plus they hate Israel just as much, so why not take the opportunity. As a bonus Trump cannot, or won’t, retaliate against Iran the same way he would if they attacked American targets. They know a chunk of his base (not me) won’t stand for Trump getting involved in the ‘affairs of other countries’. From Iran’s standpoint it makes sense.
