The huge embassy, built along the banks of the Tigris River in central Baghdads fortified green zone during American occupation following the 2003 invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein, 'is the biggest U.S. diplomatic mission in the world'.
Iran-backed militias withdrew from the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq on Jan. 1 ...The withdrawal came a day after a mix of protesters and militia members and supporters stormed the embassys outer walls, prompting a contingent of U.S. Marines to deploy from Kuwait.... Some 100 Marines arrived 'just before midnight' from Kuwait to reinforce the security forces at the embassy.
Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said the United States was sending about 750 additional troops to the Middle East after Tuesdays attack on the embassy.
This deployment is an appropriate and precautionary action taken in response to increased threat levels against U.S. personnel and facilities, such as we witnessed in Baghdad today, he said in a statement. The United States will protect our people and interests anywhere they are found around the world.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said late Tuesday on Fox News that there were no plans to evacuate the embassy or pull out any of the 5,000 troops in Iraq.
The embassy is being monitored. Its safe. The actions that we took today were prudent. Under President Trumps direction, our team worked together today to quickly, decisively, prudently take the appropriate responses to keep our American people safe, Pompeo said during an appearance on CBS.

They withdrew after rubber bullets? Soros needs to pay more.
Ya know, I’ve been told that we have too many of all kinds of bombs and missiles...
Those still living shouldn't have been allowed to "withdraw." They should have been rounded up, and provided a free vacation to the tropical resort at Gitmo.
... and it wouldn’t really be a war anyway.
WHY the hell was even one left alive after they broke in?
While our response may have been prudent, its doubtful that Iran was impressed by rubber bullets.
Oh!! Those poor mourners.
First: Give the order to fix bayonets.
Second: Fire 3 times into the crowd of “protesters”.
Third: Advance, bayoneting anybody met while moving to the end of embassy grounds.
This probably wouldn’t have to be done more than a couple of times.
they were egged on, and funded by,
and armed by Obama, Jarrett and their Iranian gang.
Them bastards no nothing except force, period.
Real bullets would have dissuaded the survivors from further protests.
Don’t get the rubber bullets (are we that wussified?), but glad we don’t need to go to war with Iran. I would bet that the CIC personally gave the go ahead for an additional 100 Marines, as reported.
Golf balls.
What if someone invented a golf ball machine for crowd control that put them out one per second at 1000fps?
Guarantee a shot to the thigh would cause a person to forget what they were doing.
Puke gas would have been a lot more fun depending on wind direction.
First mistake....rubber bullets!
My tax money should be sent on spent uranium and lead
The Iranian backed militia that invaded the US embassy in Baghdad were UPSET, I tell you. Very upset.
They were protesting a hateful video that showed the “profit” Mohamed engaged in pornographic conduct with the 12th Imam.( sarc.)
( It worked before!)

Isn’t the proper term “redeploy”?
