The Islamic Republic of Iran, facing demonstrations at home that threaten its very existence and more in Iraq that threaten that countrys Shiite proxy government, is resorting to a tested and true strategy. Fox News reports that crowds of angry Iraqis protesting Americas recent airstrikes against an Iran-backed militia have laid siege to the U.S. Embassy compound in Baghdad Tuesday, chanting Down, Down USA! and storming through a main gate, prompting troops to fire back tear gas in response.
President Trump tweeted: Iran killed an American contractor, wounding many. We strongly responded, and always will. Now Iran is orchestrating an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Iraq. They will be held fully responsible. In addition, we expect Iraq to use its forces to protect the Embassy, and so notified!
Whether the pro-Iranian Shiite regime will take any serious steps to protect the embassy is an open question, and the Iranian mullahs may be assuming that Trump will talk tough and then let the whole thing blow over. After all, as The Complete Infidels Guide to Iran explains in detail, there is a significant precedent for this that occurred right at the time the Islamic Republic was founded.
On January 16, 1979, a tearful Shah of Iran, Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, and his family left Iran after being betrayed and abandoned by Jimmy Carter.

Lulz, Trump is no CarterIdiot from Peanutville.....
Target - Wallet
Burn the banks where the Obama cash is stashed.
Demolish capital assets.
But it is going to be a balancing act. He has to respond firmly enough to keep Lindsey Graham in his corner but he cant allow the Rats to run as the Anti-War Party.
The eventual targeting and destroying of Iranian nuclear sites is coming....Lindsey or no Lindsey.
Maybe but that would be some operation. IIRC they buried everything underground so we might have to send in several Seal Teams or such which could turn into a nightmare in the desert just like Carter. Seals can probably accomplish quite a bit when operating against jihadi zealots but attacking a fixed installation that is protected by everything they have got could be pretty tough.
The Mullahlahlahlah’s don’t know our President very well it seems. Apparently they think the phony impeachment scam of the Democrats has weakened him.
They have another think coming. If nothing else it’s emboldened him, and his supporters.
Try again.
Just my opinion but it seems to me the best way to deal with Iran is just let them (encourage them) to die a slow death at the hands of their own people. Let them choke on their own ideology, like the USSR.
The nuke plants need to go.
I hAve a better question....is this what John Kerry advised iran to do
Very true and don’t forget we have Kerry and who knows how many others who still have Top Secret clearance who could sabotage any effort. Hell, Obongo’s no 2 is an Iranian.

Probably what our Leftists TOLD them as Obama gave them OUR cash. (Which may really be from the Ukraine)
Maybe but they probably hope we’ll kill a lot of Iraqis.
No, they think he’ll react like obama, as guided by Iranian-born Valerie Jarrett.
Bad mistake.
Purge all TS clearances for former government officials.
PDJT should sink a few dozen Iranian mosquito boats in the Gulf, with a Tomahawk for one of their `capital’ ships.
As for the Teheran regime choking on itself, the mullahs appear to be well fed & think they can stoke anti-U.S. rage by letting the people starve. We’ll see.
Israel will do that-probably right after Bibi is elected
I hope and expect that Trump will react strongly, and I hope and expect that it will not be in the manner Iran expects and is hoping for.
Um, Boom...
Whatever the president does he must not include Dems or rinos in the process if he wants to achieve success.
