An NYPD officer was assaulted in a wild confrontation caught on camera in Brooklyn Heights. Police say 40-year-old Steven Haynes punched an officer after being asked to leave the middle of an intersection where he was sitting.
The attack took place near a Bank of America on Court and Livingston Streets.
Eventually, more officers are seen moving in to help remove the suspect who is now facing a long list of charges, including assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.
Despite those charges, Haynes is reportedly already back out on the street, according to the Police Benevolent Association.

Soros has bought DAs etc. all over the country and is installing this kind of walk free bull$hit. Money may not buy you happiness but it can buy control of our legal system. Soros should have been stopped years ago.
Was he wearing a MAGA hat?
There should be NO female cops, its stupid to think they can do the job.
I don’t understand the point of having female firefighters. The female point of view doesn’t bring anything to fighting a fire. And as for dragging my 240-pound-unconscious self out of a fire...
“Old school he should have been wheeled out of court.”
Oh, he’s going to be wheeled out of something. The perp from this day forward will need to look both ways when crossing the street. There will be retaliation for this and the judge who turned him loose also better watch out.
“I can see the value of a womans different perspective in police work.”
Yeah, they can work in the station house, answer the phone, make coffee,...
Stood on the dock for the GI ferry across to the Big Apple 5 times.
Plenty close enough for me! (Alls I wanted was a Nathan’s hot dog!)
When I first saw that I assumed that she was the Cops female partner, and if she was I’d be looking for a new partner.
This happened in NYC....not America...
Not a word from media how his female partner just stood there
Worthless
Watch the video
She didnt do jack except plead for him to stop
There’s another thread on this. She was his partner. Total waste of money etc. having female cops on the beat. Also, she maybe was fine with someone of the same racial group beating up the white cop. Probably, she can so almost anything and not get fired.
I have heard stories about cops beating people up pretty badly, but this is taking it to the other extreme.
I agree.
People sometimes see my criticism of this as some kind of chauvinism against women, but it is nothing of the sort.
Women can be intellectually strong, tough, and capable, but in jobs where physical capability means something significant (Military (especially combat roles) Police, and Firefighters) it is a recipe for calamity and failure. It is why I am so dead set against women in combat roles or roles where they could collaterally be in combat.
If success wasn’t important in professional sports as a way of getting money in an organization, you would see women competing as well, but it is impossible for women to compete with men at the top of the pyramid and be successful, so...that isn’t happening. If sports were run by government, it would happen.
Anyway, you are right. The Left doesn’t care about results or success, they care only about power accumulation.
“The cop wielding the nightstick was a woman.”
A collapsible baton is a poor excuse for a nightstick. The old style wooden ones were much more effective, but probably much less so in the hands of the attacked officer’s “partner”.
New York, New York, you keep electing politicians they hate common values. Are you all criminals?
On the bright side, she didn’t break a nail.
Did law suits eliminate LE use of “stun guns”? Seems like they’d do less damage than getting beaten with a baton and effectively stop the aggressor.
This equal opportunity is great. However, if they are going to let women be police and firemen, shouldn’t they meet the same physical requirements as men? Would they hire a male policeman who couldn’t swing a night stick effectively?
I think they used policewomen in the old days as fake prostitutes. They might be better than men for interviewing rape victims. It is also probably useful to have both sexes for undercover work. However, it makes no sense to completely ignore gender.
Nightsticks went out of favor about the time of the Rodney King video. A bunch of officers wailing on a black guy didn’t look good no matter how justified it may have been. They then switched to tasers.
Maybe they have lowered the minimum standards for qualification until they are so low that women can pass. I remember when fire departments chose those who passed the written test with the highest grades. Then they went to "qualified" meaning that getting a 70% if you were a member of a preferred group was just as good (or better) than a 98% from a non-preferred. Even that wasn't enough so the tests were made easier and easier. They are probably worthless by now.
