WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Barack Obama and Donald Trump are tied this year as the most admired man. It is Obama's 12th time in the top spot versus the first for Trump. Michelle Obama is the most admired woman for the second year in a row.
Each year since 1948, Gallup has asked Americans to name, in an open-ended fashion, which man and woman living anywhere in the world they admire most. This year's results are based on a Dec. 2-15 poll. Americans' choice for most admired man this year is sharply divided along party lines: 41% of Democrats name Obama, while 45% of Republicans choose Trump.
Relatively few Democrats choose Trump and relatively few Republicans pick Obama, while independents' choices are divided about equally between the two men. After Obama and Trump, no other man was mentioned by more than 2% of respondents.
The remainder of the top 10 for men this year includes former President Jimmy Carter, businessman Elon Musk, philanthropist and Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Pope Francis, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, California Rep. Adam Schiff, the Dalai Lama, and investor Warren Buffett.

Obama is still treated like a god here in our very blue state (PNW). Over the weekend I was in two separate bookstores, one locally owned and Barnes & Noble. In the local one there was Michelle Obama’s book in 6 separate places around the bookstore, plus one small area with books about President Obama. Barnes & Noble had what looked like a shrine to the Obamas! On one side of their book shelf there was a handmade poster with “We love the Obamas” and books below that. They’ve almost become cult figures! (shaking head)
Since when do they pick two...Just more Dirty Dem politics...
And B. O. Is the one that should have been impeached.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it. The poll is not of any great significance. I think it’s more name recognition than not.

If true (and now days with a lying media, you can never know for sure, but if true) this is remarkable.
Obama received nothing but positive press while President Trump has received nothing but negative press.
This may be a early sign the power of the media to influence people is coming to an end.
Trump admired by decent,respectable,hard working middle class and working class Americans.
No worries every one of those fools have a loyal set of deluded morons who admire them. It will always be so.
