Actually Russia is a huge threat to us, given their weapons, but only if people like Hillary want to prod them.

Russia and US could easily ratify a treaty between them that halves our respective strategic stockpiles. We could even achieve a reduction in total number of nukes, with a cap of 1,000 of any sort. And establish effective verification regimes.
The hard part would be getting the US to agree.
Russia has weapons, yes, but they know the retaliation would be massive and thoroughly destructive and probably finish them as any kind of power.
The dems, on the other hand, seem to have zero fear of retaliation, and try to get away with everything they can, thanks to years of GOP spinelessness.
