Evangelist Franklin Graham tore into the magazine his father founded after the flagship evangelical publication called for President Trump to be removed from office.
In a statement posted to Facebook on Thursday night, Graham wrote, "Christianity Today released an editorial stating that President Trump should be removed from office, and they invoked my fathers name (I suppose to try to bring legitimacy to their statements), so I feel it is important for me to respond."
Conceding that his father helped establish the periodical in 1956, Franklin Graham maintained that Billy Graham, who died in 2018 at age 99, would not countenance the viewpoints espoused by the editorial board against the president. "Yes, my father Billy Graham founded Christianity Today," Graham wrote, "but no, he would not agree with their opinion piece. In fact, he would be very disappointed."
Revealing that the last vote his father cast was for Trump, Franklin went on to claim that Billy Graham "knew Donald Trump, he believed in Donald Trump, and he voted for Donald Trump. He believed that Donald J. Trump was the man for this hour in history for our nation."
"For Christianity Today to side with the Democrat Party in a totally partisan attack on the President of the United States is unfathomable," Graham continued. He pointed to the lopsided vote in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, in which no Republican voted in favor of impeachment. "I know a number of Republicans in Congress, and many of them are strong Christians," said Graham. "If the President were guilty of what the Democrats claimed, these Republicans would have joined with the Democrats to impeach him."
"This impeachment was politically motivated, 100% partisan," Graham asserted. "Why would Christianity Today choose to take the side of the Democrat left whose only goal is to discredit and smear the name of a sitting president?" Graham closed out his statement by saying that Christianity Today "has moved to the left and is representing the elitist liberal wing of evangelicalism."
Graham then cited Trump's accomplishments for people of faith, such as opposing abortion and mitigating the reach of ISIS. Graham has been a staunch supporter of the president and has claimed that "a demonic power" is fueling the fury behind impeachment and the political turmoil roiling the nation.
Mark Galli, the editor-in-chief of Christianity Today, asserted Thursday that Trump's July 25 phone call to the Ukrainian president was "profoundly immoral" and that the case against him was "unambiguous."
"The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the presidents political opponents," Galli wrote. The magazine went on to rebuke the evangelicals who back Trump, warning that their support "will crash down on the reputation of evangelical religion and on the worlds understanding of the gospel."
Into the schools you must go my children, even the theological schools. It may take you generations but slowly you will subvert the populace from their beliefs to ours, said Marx to his “children”.
I have now doubt at all that along the way the writer of the piece in Christianity today was “educated” by persons who had been “educated” by persons who had been “educated” by Leftists.
Many actual Leftists today have never even thought of themselves as Leftists because their indoctrination, their indoctrinators, never identified the Leftist roots of what they were being told to believe.
Excellent delivery of a much-needed smackdown. I would not be surprised to see CT endorse the pious Booty-gig for president.
Mark Galli will likely be looking for a job if circulation numbers plunge.
‘Christianity Today’ has been going down the tubes for years. I stopped reading it years ago.
This is what happens when you depart from Torah. At first things dont change much; you break the Kosher laws and start to eat things God calls an abomination. Then the day comes when sexual perverts, whose very life is an abomination, are rolling around on library floors with your young children, bringing them into the darkness. You quote the Bible condemnation of homosexuality as an abomination and they laugh in your face. You teach that were not under the law anymore, right? Shrimp and Pork are called an abomination too, but, hey, isnt that bacon grease dripping off your chin? When you detach yourself from the Torah, eventually you will find yourself 180 degrees in opposition to it. Your organization will become infected with abominations, and your clergy themselves will become child molesters. There is no way to defeat this madness with out true repentance, and that word (teshuvah in Hebrew) means to return to the Laws of God, all of them.
.....”Many actual Leftists today have never even thought of themselves as Leftists”......
That would require independent critical thinking skills which because they are accustomed at being spoon fed they have not developed that muscle.
The article clearly shows why there are 187 different kinds of Baptists. To bea a Baptist, you must find something relatively obscure and then leave and start a new congregation
Same here. This tilt to the left isnt new for this rag, they have supported the so-called emergent church which is riddled with heresies.
NOPE
Intent is important. T knew that Ukraine was corrupt and he was motivated to stop or reduce the corruption, which means he was motivated by the true interests of the American people rather than his own personal gain. This means that his actions were just, legitimate, and moral.
Independent Baptist here, of the separatist variety.
RE: The article clearly shows why there are 187 different kinds of Baptists.
I am sure that there are also 187 different kinds of Roman Catholics. Nancy Pelosi and Andrew Cuomo are just a few of these kinds. On the other hand, there’s Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia....
Cultural Marxists tear down the past and revise history and traditions.

MICHELLE OBAMA (May 2008): “Barack knows that we are going to have to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change our conversation; we’re going to have to change our traditions, our history; we’re going to have to move into a different place as a nation.”
I think that World was doing a weekly news recap radio program. I used to listen to it but programming changed in my city.
Thanks.
Diehard DEMOCRATS are in every church. They wrap themselves around their “faith”, but are bound to their political party and need deliverance. How else could they vote for abortionists, and anti-traditional family legislators?
>>How he thinks he can lecture evangelicals on how to vote morally is beyond me.
Nancy Pelosi’s efforts to “close the God Gap” in elections, ad nauseum.
“Wish there was some HOLDING to tradtional values EVEN among Catholics, but the Pope has been drinking the same Kool Aid as Mark Galli.”
As a non-practicing Catholic, I tell everyone that I didn’t leave the church, the church left me.
When the church put the welfare of criminal alien invaders ahead of our own homeless citizens was the final straw for me.
The word is hypocrite
As:
Nancy Pelosi is a Roman Catholic hypocrite
I’ve seen posts saying that he’s leaving in January 2020 regardless
RE: I think Christianity Today has just thrown their principles to the wind in order to get Mike Pence in the White House.
And what’s to stop the Democrats from impeaching him as well?
