One of the top impeachment witnesses the Democrats presented in their case against President Donald Trump, just took a hatchet to the plans of Nancy Pelosi to gain the upper hand against Senate Republicans in any trial against Trump.
Harvard Law professor Noah Feldman said in an op-ed on Thursday that Democrats have not yet impeached the president despite their vote last night.
Uh, oh!
Feldmans op-ed at Bloomberg News comes as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is considering withholding sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate because she is worried that the political trial would be biased in favor of the president.
So far we havent seen anything that looks fair to us, Pelosi told reporters last night. That wouldve been our intention, but well see what happens over there.
Feldman noted that according to the Constitution, impeachment is a process, not a vote, and that while a modest delay would not pose a problem, a lengthy delay would be a serious problem.
(Sorry, Nancy, it gets even worse...)

I think the House adjourned for the holidays today
I am taping the Dem debate to watch tomorrow. Have not watched any of them but like you said I have a feeling tonights will be fun to watch.
Ha Ha, they can’t do anything right.
The constitution provides very little guidance about how impeachment should be done, leaving the details beyond what it says up to the House and Senate. The House clearly was making it up as they went, so why can’t the Senate?
Nothing crazy. Just pass a Senate rule saying that articles of impeachment must be transmitted to the Senate within X days. Say 7 days, one week. If not, they are null and void.
McConnell has as much right to make up rules as Nadless and Schiff had.
Did you manage to read this or do you have a better Constitutional understanding?
Just an overall game plan
Nan. I will not transmit until I know the trial will be fair.
Noah. Until you transmit it is not impeachment.
Nan. I am being forced to transmit knowing the trial will not be fair.
Mich. We voted to dismiss.
Nan. See? I was right. The Senate held a recorded vote without the house telling them what the Senate’s rules must be, how unfair!
Just more fantasized proglib BS.
Waiting to see if the progs are really THAT stupid...
.
Looks like Nancy is really putting on the years now.
Does she seem to look older in that pic?
Nancy is the 1st female Speaker of the house.
The 2nd one would not have to do much to surpass Pelosi.
Pelosi has the integrity of a rodent. Hell, she is even starting to look like a rodent.
Nancy, Nadler and Schiff oversaw a biased and fixed investigation in the House. So now they are worried about it being fair in the Senate? Are these folks a joke? Do they even listen to what they are saying?
If that’s true it seems, in the moment, very convenient for the Dems.
(Is there any process to call them back, for an issue that is this important to the Nation?)
After all, they’ve sucked up so much time NOT DOING work for the People, but instead trying to nullify our legitimate vote and election.
Just Sayin’.....
I can’t see how they gain much at all by sitting on it too long. After 3 years of non stop attacks they have taken their best shot. They missed. They might be taking polling to find out their next move but I figure they will demoralize their base if they don’t follow through, and divide their caucus after forcing all those congresspeople in Trump districts to put the noose around their necks for nothing. Who would vote for the Democrats if they sit on impeachment articles indefinitely? It’s bizarre.
In large part I think they just want to keep the spotlight longer and control the narrative longer, control the conversation through the holidays. They are control freaks. They claim they want to know what the Senate rules will be before they send the articles over, but the Senate doesn’t have to (and won’t) waste time on rules for something they aren’t obliged to consider. She has to send it over, then they can vote on how to handle the trial.
Yes, that has been well established.
Whether or not Congress has yet impeached the President, the press and the Democrats will all loudly claim that the Congress has Impeached the President. It is the thing about the tree falling in the forest. If all one can hear is voices screaming that the tree fell in the forest then as far as anybody knows, that tree fell in the forest.
Surprising moment of lucidity from Feldman.
He’s correct. Tump has not been impeached... he has only had “charges” leveled. He will have been impeached AFTER conviction and that look unlikely at this point.
Two hours. They are all co-located.
I have a better understanding from reading 20 articles yesterday and today. If you watched nadler’s hearings you can find a professor or “expert:” with any weird opinion. He had 3 of them.
Did you see my links. Did you see that trump knows he’s impeached. Are his advisors wrong and dumber than the guy you cite? Was it wrong when the house said they impeached Clinton?
‘Is up down and down up.
You are going to be very disappointed.
It’s like watching teeth grow.
Let me know if anything actually interesting happens. My tolerance for their predictable verbal nonsense crap ended long ago, and I haven’t watched any of their ‘debates’.
(I seriously doubt that any of my ostensibly liberal friends have watched, either. They get their talking points from stuff they see on ‘twitter’...)
The House voted to conduct a impeachment investigation. They did not vote to impeach the President. Not that the news can be bothered to explain this. Like they did when Bill Clinton was actually impeached.
