Monday on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin gave credit to his neighbor for making a very good point about the impeachment effort against President Donald Trump. Levin said his neighbor believes that the Democrats want to impeach Trump to have an excuse not to let him appoint another justice to the Supreme Court — whether he wins re-election or not.
“I’ll bet he’s right. I’ll bet that’s part of the calculation,” Levin said. “That they want to claim that they’ve crippled this lawless president, that the Republicans wouldn’t remove him from office, and there is no way that the Democrats will ever agree to him making another Supreme Court appointment, either in the next eleven months or, as I say, should he get re-elected and in the four years subsequent to his first term.”

Been saying it ever since this debacle started, which was shortly after RBGs cancer was revealed, August, as a matter of fact. Let’s just use a hypothetical.......let’s say in August she was given three to six months which would be between November and February. That is she what the rush has been, You can bet, beyond a doubt that, from this point on, they would argue a President under impeachment can not appoint a Supreme.
The Dems don’t have a say as long as the Reps have a majority.
In essence today’s hearings are the green light to RBG to go ahead and die.

Iff the senate finishes in jan or Feb, he certainly can nominate.
Only 1 thing can constitutionally stop the Senate from confirming another Trump nominee — the impeachment trial itself. The Senate must set aside all other business.
I still think the Democrats will attempt to use the argument, however.
