IN THE END, the story told by the two articles of impeachment approved on Friday morning by the House Judiciary Committee is short, simple and damning: President Donald Trump abused the power of his office by strong-arming Ukraine, a vulnerable ally, holding up hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid until it agreed to help him influence the 2020 election by digging up dirt on a political rival.
When caught in the act, he rejected the very idea that a president could be required by Congress to explain and justify his actions, showing unprecedented, categorical and indiscriminate defiance in the face of multiple subpoenas. He made it impossible for Congress to carry out fully its constitutionally mandated oversight role, and, in doing so, he violated the separation of powers, a safeguard of the American republic.
To quote from the articles, President Trump, by such conduct, has demonstrated that he will remain a threat to national security and the Constitution if allowed to remain in office, and has acted in a manner grossly incompatible with self-governance and the rule of law.

They are blaming Trump for what Biden did.
No, it's coordinated.
I posted this eight days ago when the LA Times announced.
Sounds like a timed and coordinated gaslighting strategy.

Of course they have no shame. Thus, no way to shame them. But, when the Senate trial starts, and witnesses are allowed to be questioned including the “whistleblower”, if they had any sense of shame they would be looking for a hole to get into. Oh well, their empty headed audience won’t have a clue.
That and president Trump is getting uncomfortably close to revealing the media is the one taking brines. They always project
I love the steady sound of the NYT slowly flushing down the toilet of irrelevancy.......
The paper of record? Pathetic. Largest buggy whip manufacturer in the country. Paper is going the way of the horse and buggy. The death of the NY Times will be a small price to pay for ending global warming./snarc
They refuse to accept a loss. Why TF should we?

Ann Coulter said her “only regret” about Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh was that he didn’t go to the New York Times.
If he had he would have been a national hero.
The New York Slimes is behind the Times.
They deny the primary adage handed down from the leading foreign policy president in modern history, followed by every president since, including President Trump:
“”speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far.”**
No president can or should be impeached for following such advice. The Doctrine of Separation of Powers demands it.

Lots of practice.
There won't be any witnesses, despite what we are hearing.
To call witnesses gives legitimacy to this kangaroo court sham. Furthermore, any trial lawyer will tell you that calling a witness is always a very tricky thing. It can easily blow up in your face.
The Senate could introduce a motion to dismiss, but they would be accused of a "cover up." McConnell will most likely allow the House managers to prattle on, followed by a quick rebuttal from Trump's attorneys, followed by a quick floor vote from the Senators.
Q.E.D.
Strongarmed: As Biden bragged about holding up a billion dollars unless a prosecutor was immediately fired.
Political rival: Only delusional dems would ever view Biden as a rival for Trump.
Digging up dirt from a foreign power: Steele report anyone?
The dems are openly saying: Comrades of America (including those in Canada, Mexico, and throughout the Americas), we do not care anymore what the people say. The government shall be however we dictate. Oh, and Orange Man bad.
NYSlimes is just borrowing Schiftforbrains’ fantasy line.
Wow, every word in that editorial is a lie, including “the” and “it”. Typical of the FNTimes.
NYT - the Enemy of Truth
Leftists Lie as easily as they Breath.
Conspiring With Treason Is Treason....
Hardly anyone reads newspapers anymore.
During the fifties and sixties my dad worked in the city and commuted from the suburbs of Philadelphia. He and all the other suits on the train spent the whole time reading the newspaper.
There was a special way of half-folding the pages when in close quarters, and he said you had to kind of snap the pages when turning them to get the crease to fold right. He said all the businessmen must have read about the same speed, because there would suddenly be a thunderous sound of everyone on the train flipping the pages at about the same time. Then it would be relatively quiet for a few minutes.
Even then it was partly bullshit - they were mostly on the sports page and the crossword puzzles. They would dutifully scan the front page an editorial pages. But there was sort of an image you had to keep up of a responsible well-informed citizen who read the newspaper. A lot of it was ritual even then.
When I was a young commuter during the eighties, I drove mostly, but when I did take the train, the newspaper thing had already dwindled almost to nothing - and it was ONLY the sports page people were looking at.
Now my kids are commuting and of course their mobile devices can alert them to news stories or give them the option of reading on line versions of the NYT, but there is so much internet content out there..
Nobody actually reads a newspaper cover to cover, certainly not the NYT.
Im surprised they can stay in business.
Their penalty should be the loss of half of their subscribers, but the Times seems to operate successfully under the old motto: You believe it, well print it.
Seeing this editorial in print fulfills a deeply cherished dream for many on the Left, even if not a word of it is true. They just want it so badly...
