Of all the House Democrats undecided about voting to impeach President Trump, Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii has the least incentive to stick to the party line.
The 2020 presidential candidate is giving up her seat to concentrate on her White House race, and she's long been an apostate against her party on some key issues.
In New Hampshire earlier this week, Gabbard, 38, said she remains "undecided" on whether she'll vote to impeach the president. That makes her one of the few Democratic lawmakers to voice skepticism about the pair of impeachment articles passed by the House Judiciary Committee on Friday, for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
And Gabbard is the only Democratic presidential candidate not vocally in favor of impeachment.
"I have had concerns for a long time about impeachment being pursued for partisan reasons," Gabbard said Monday. "Pursuing impeachment for partisan reasons is something that will only further divide an already divided country, and it actually undermines our democracy."
She later added that she is "undecided on how I am going to vote."

That would make two so far.
If Hawaii is anything like I believe it to be her voting against impeachment will probably cost her her job.If by chance I’m correct and if she casts her vote believing that it;s true that would be a display of courage on her part.
Trump needs to convert her to the “R” side.
As I recall she was against it before she was for it.
Now she is against it again?
Just another shit for brains Democrat. She is as radical as every other Stalin Claus standing on the Debate Stage with her. She just hides it well.
All these folks get funding from the party coffers. Play nice or “no money for you”.
I would not count on it.
She is from one of the most liberal states in the country.
No consequences if she votes against the impeachment. She's certainly not positioning herself for vice-president.
If she is the likeliest to vote against impeachment, then bring on the Senate trial.
But maybe she’ll primary that crazy Hawaiian Senator Mazie Hirono. What a kook.
You want a Communist Republican ? Check her voting record, it’s well over 90% leftist.
My guess is Tulsi has already made arrangements to slip into the national political scene permanently so doesn't need the loyalty of the whacko Hawaiians any longer ... but I pull that part from my butt, don't know if true.
Gotta sense this article may have been written from the perspective of the DEMs wanting to get Tulsi out of their debates and primaries as soon as possible.
She could make herself stand out by calling out the other candidates on the huge organized crime syndicate the Democrat party has become.
The interwoven bribery and spying scandals are not going to be getting better for the dems. Its all downhill from here with the pending Impeachment trial and Durham indictments.
If she were to pick up on the truth she may pick up the dem votors who are disgusted with it all.
3?
I heard Nancy P. say they weren’t going to “whip” the vote, meaning that the Democrat whip person is not going to strong arm anyone, count on how many will support it, persuade fence sitters, make back room deals, or any of that.
Assuming that’s true, if it passes, it will pass by a very narrow margin.
At this point, isn’t impeachment simply making a political statement? Since there’s no way Trump gets convicted in a Senate trial, isn’t all of this just a meaningless academic exercise?
And isn’t it stupid of Democrats, who are spending all this time on impeachment, instead of trying to work with Trump on legislation relating to our country’s issues? Such as, prescrition drugs, infrastructure, even immigration and dealing with Dreamers??? None of that is happening, as impeachment sucks all the oxygen out of the room.
“Trump needs to convert her to the R side.”
That just ain’t gonna happen. She’s a progressive/liberal down to the bone, she’s just a relatively honest one.
Do the “normal” democrats really want this to go to the Senate where all their lies will be exposed?
No way? I beg to differ. Sadly, it's possible.
... isnt all of this just a meaningless academic exercise?
Well, badgering Trump 24/7 helped the DEMs retake the House, so maybe they think if they can't remove Trump, they can at least push the GOP between a rock and a hard place and retake the Senate.
Shes no closer to (R) material than Sanders. Lets not confuse her acts of self-preservation for moderation. Shell make noise about not supporting impeachment, only to later flip-flop her stance.
