It was not about the journey to Bethlehem to pay taxes that was the refugee story. It was the fight to Egypt to escape Herod who ordered all children under a certain age to be killed.
The flight of the Holy family to Egypt was a flight for true refugee status. There was no need to separate the family to determine if they were being trafficked or doing it themselves.
While in Egypt, they did not live
off the Egyptians, nor steal identity nor did they enter Egypt by lying.
Further, when the cause of their need for asylum passed they went home.
It’s not a nativity, and it’s not Jesus, Mary and Joseph. They were forced to go to Bethlehem, in spite of being poor, by the taxing authorities, to register to pay f*cking TAXES! Must have been a democrat administration.

Claremont United Methodist Church is (duh) located in the same city as Claremont Theological School, a Methodist seminary where the Bible is not held in high regard. So any thought of Methodist clergy in that geographical location being impressed with the actual words of the Bible will be met with a robust snore.

You need to reread... I said the “church claimns” the baby Jesus is two years old. You need to tell the church that not me.
person(s) who made this display mock God. The display is not biblical - the holy family did not sneak or illegally cross into egypt and dislay doesn’t address the real issue of the USA border.
