House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) said Sunday that President Trump would push to make the 2020 election unfair if he is acquitted of articles of impeachment in Congress.
"The president, based on his past performance, he will do everything he can to make it not a fair election," Nadler said on NBC's "Meet the Press."
"And that is part of what gives us the urgency to proceed with this impeachment," he added.
House members and Senators will have to decide "in the face of an abundance of uncontested evidence" whether "the president poses a threat to our election," Nadler said.
"Are they going to be patriots, or are they going to be partisans?" he asked.
"This is a matter of urgency to deal with because we have to make sure the next election is conducted with integrity and without foreign interference," he added.
The House Judiciary Committee will hold an impeachment hearing Monday.
Nadler did not give a definitive time frame on when the House will vote on articles of impeachment.
Spokespeople for the White House and Trump campaign were not immediately available to respond to Nadler's comments.

Well, I guess Nadler (and the Dims) will do everything to make sure 2020 is “not a fair” election.
Being a horses posterior only makes the public angry enough to drive a stake thru your chest.
Maybe he will drop dead of a heart attack like the mafioso did in the movie Casino when the Feds came to serve him.

I smell the whiff of fascism every time he walks by.
Louisiana's John Bel Edwards won by 40,000 votes. I do not believe there is a single precinct in our state that large. There would have to have been multiple precincts to generate that many votes. It did not happen.
Governor elections in Kentucky and Louisiana, came down to the votes cast in one precinct, that was the last precinct to be counted and, lo and behold, was in a heavy Dem voting precinct.
Voter fraud and election experts detailed findings from a cyber/forensic investigation reveal
compromised voting machines in 2018 (and quite probably, in the recent KY and LA governors' races).
(1) security protections in voting machines were disabled,
(2) penetration and manipulation of actual vote tabulations was and is possible, and
(3) evidence already exists that votes were surreptitiously, electronically manipulated to change election results.
