The Saudi Air Force trainee who killed three and injured eight when he opened fire at a naval base in Florida on Friday assailed the United States as 'a nation of evil' just before his shooting rampage, AFP reports.
The man, identified as Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, opened fire inside a classroom at Naval Air Station in Pensacola early Friday morning. Police quickly responded to the scene and he was shot dead.
Alshamrani was a second lieutenant attending the aviation school at the base. The Pentagon say his training with the US military began in August 2016, and was due to finish in August 2020.
On Friday evening, the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors jihadist media, claimed they had tracked a Twitter account belonging to Alshamrani which featured a disturbing manifesto written just hours before the shooting.
'I'm against evil, and America as a whole has turned into a nation of evil,' it read.
'I'm not against you for just being American, I don't hate you because your freedoms, I hate you because every day you supporting, funding and committing crimes not only against Muslims but also humanity,' Alshamrani wrote.
ABC News reported that investigators were working to determine if if the tweet was in fact written by the shooter.
The Twitter account that posted the manifesto - which also condemned US support for Israel and included a quote from Al-Qaeda's deceased leader, the Saudi Osama bin Laden - has now been suspended.

One of the bigger problems in Saudi Arabia is that even if much of the kingdom eventually modernizes that doesn’t mean the rest of the country will.
What modernization are you talking about? Do you think it would be cooler if they would crash space ships instead of airplanes into buildings or shoot people with blasters instead of bullets?

This appears to be a conspiracy of at least seven terrorists. A thorough review of our vetting procedures is needed immediately. It's not clear to me that all six arrested are also military, Saudi or otherwise. If not, it would point to a more expansive cell located near our base. If all 7 are Saudi military, perhaps worse. How did all 7 keep their plans secret? Am I to believe these are the only 7 anti American Saudis? Others must have known or suspected and kept quiet.

It is apparently a slow news day because the shooting at NAS Pensacola is about all that is on. There is a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth concerned with a lack or absence of vetting by the FBI or the Saudi government or what ever.
There were only three killed. What? how can I trivialize the deaths of three brave American aviators?
I don’t. I want to make the point that when more than four times that number were killed BY AN AMERICAN MILITARY OFFICER IN TEXAS, there was no such effort. That officer was an Islamic Terrorist Soldier Officer. His crime is much more heinous.
“This appears to be a conspiracy of at least seven terrorists. A thorough review of our vetting procedures is needed immediately.”
This cannot be done with any assurance. Growing up educated by the Wahabi clerics, living in a land where blasphemy can get you a death sentence, where religious conversion is illegal, and with a society that blames others, primarily the U.S., for all that is wrong in their part of the world, there is no way to know what is lurking in the heart of a young Saudi. No way at all. If they were asked anything that might reveal terrorist intentions, their own religious conviction would tell them to just lie. To lie to infidels about plans against them is not a sin.
“’I’m against evil, and America as a whole has turned into a nation of evil,’ it read. “
An attitude like that will win him a job as a campaign manager for any of the far left Dem candidates.
I cant imagine. Yeah, right.
I imagine thy are training for flying the type of aircraft that we sold them.
Better to have Saudis themselves train their pilots over in their Kingdom.
If no one know how, let them figure it out themselves.
Get all ME students sent back to their home Islamic Caliphate Shari Law countries.
“Khasshoggi showed that you dont defy the KSA.”
Interesting it was never exposed that he was a spy (against SA) posing as a journalist.
That’s why he was dispatched with prejudice.
“I am against Evil,”
He said First.
.
He Lied and
He died EVIL.
Good list for a start.
Osama Bin Laden was Saudi Likewise 15/19 of the 9-11 hijackers.
Jus’ sayin’ ...
Well, you’re right. My thought, American centric, was that something must have been openly expressed here in the US. Filming a terror attack, what were they thinking? You are correct if you meant to suggest there was an religious motivation, motivated by a belief system those in the know wouldn’t betray. I’m sure you’re right. Then there’s tribal/family affiliation. Religion, even a radical version, tribal/cultural/family affiliation. The US is far from considering factors like that.
I won’t lay it at the foot of the government, but I suspect many knew of it. Killing Americans and/or Jews is an admirable act in many nations/cultures. Not everyone, just a whole bunch.
It is amazing we did not have a much greater “some people did something” incident. Ship. Them. All. Back .
The NSA knows more about our shopping habits than the Islamic scum training on our bases.
9-11 redux
I suspect they knew about these guys too.
Were likely told to overlook it.
