Good common sense, to be sure. Incidentally, what caused the diverse origins of immigrants in the 19th Century to work well in many cases, was not the "diversity," but the values that different people had in common.

An American Dream or Human Nightmare

Diversity in the form of people who did not respect our heritage, based on a maximum level of personal responsibility, was always a negative. Or am I wrong?

Yep, people who do not respect “our heritage” are in essence disrespecting ALL who have come before them as they comprise our heritage.
