Iran has been taking advantage of recent political unrest in Iraq by secretly stockpiling short-range missiles inside the country, the New York Times reported Wednesday.
The buildup is part of Iran's widening effort to assert dominance in the Middle East and could pose a threat to American troops as well as allies in the region such as Israel and Saudi Arabia, U.S. sources told the Times.
Both Iraq and Iran have been gripped by deadly protests in recent months, with more than 1,000 people reported dead as a result of protests in Iran. But public unrest has not seemed to slow Iranian leadership down from engaging in what the Times calls a "shadow war."
Iran has been attacking countries in the Middle East of late but disguising the origin to diminish the chances of counterattacks. Iran's stockpiling of short-range missiles in Iraq also serves as a strategic deterrent. If Iran were to face an attack, it could potentially strike back with the missiles stored outside its borders.
The missiles have an estimated range of 600 miles and are capable of reaching Jerusalem from outside Baghdad.
The missiles might be nuclear-capable The same day that the news broke, a letter was released from the French, German, and British ambassadors to the United Nations alleging that Iran now has nuclear-capable missiles.

Thank you Kenyan.
Time for some strategically placed MOAB’s.
Or a RFG (or two).
Kerry endorses Biden and wants his old job back so he can go back to helping Iran
To reach Israel, most of Iran’s ex-Soviet missiles capable of lifting a nuclear weapon must be launched from Iraq. Bit far (against the earth’s rotation) to get that far otherwise.
Which is why North Korea’s threat of both missiles and weapons is so great.
For all his faults, Saddam Hussein would not have allowed that!
Bkmrk.
Big hairy deal. As usual, The Blaze is blowing the matter out of proportion. Iran doesn’t have any nuclear weapons. If anyone outside of Iran had knowledge to the contrary, it would he the Israelis. And Trump45 is far too important to the religious Jews in Israel to let him get blindsided by this, so they definitely would share the information.
So why do I give a fig if someone who doesn’t have a nuke is repositioning non-nuclear-equipped nuclear-capable missiles? Would we get as exercised if they had repositioned some dinosaur-capable missiles? Because they don’t have any dinosaurs either.
Lemme guess:
We gotta send a bunch of farmboys to another brown, blowing desert:
Right..?
All while we STILL have no wall.
Here's something Democrats don't have time to worry about.
Oh, the old WMD in the tailpipe trick again?
“ex-Soviet missiles capable of lifting a nuclear weapon must be launched from Iraq. Bit far (against the earths rotation) “
No, when a missile in Iran launches, a target in Tel Aviv moves towards the launch. The earth rotates eastward.

I don’t know about that, either. If true than I couldn’t shoot my BB gun westward across the street. The field across the street would “get to the gun” long before the BB got to it. Only if the missile launch platform were not attached to the earth should your scenario be a factor. The actual launch base is attached to the earth and there is no relative velocity between it and the earth (talking about non-orbital, non-latitude-changing launches).

Great movie
Rumors are there won't BE an Iran. Israel and SA are going to wipe them out if Israel is nuked.
