In his impeachment preview, Scott notes that on Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee will begin its hearings by taking testimony from four law professors: Pam Karlan, Noah Feldman, Michael Gerhardt, and Jonathan Turley. Its easy to ridicule leading off with law professors, and its true that doing so isnt the best way to capture the publics interest.
Logically, however, it makes sense to begin the hearings by discussing the standard for impeaching a president. One can then analyze the evidence through the prism of the standard.
But this assumes that the discussion of the standard isnt filtered through the prism of partisanship and/or raw hatred of this president. Will any of the four professors provide a non-result driven analysis?

Back when universities contained a majority of very smart folks, the term “Professor” was attached to a person who had gone through the ranks (instructor/lecturer, assist prof, associate prof) and attained that final rank. This normally indicated that the possessor of the title was a respected expert in their field of study.
Given today’s university standards, methinks that title has been fully demeaned and stomped into the ground by a good many of those in the liberal arts. This includes so-called law “profs”.
And given the clowns currently posing as legal experts for the Democrats, I think I could claim “QED” after stating that these folks are senior clowns in the clown show of the century.
Wouldn't "powerline blog" suggest that this belongs in bloggers?
You know, because it's a blog and all....
I don’t know who invited Turley but he has penned articles stating essentially that they do NOT have enough for impeachment and it’s destined to fail.
“Professor”....another word and idea totally destroyed by liberalism....kinda like the word “gay” or “rainbow”.
“Professor” today is more like the moronic Jesters in the King’s court of old: Colorful, idiotic and “entertaining”. That’s about all they’re really good for these days. And to think parents pay thousands in hard-earned dollars to have their little snowflakes sit under these communist morons and have the nerve to call it an “education”.
So she has a bias since she worked for Obama and is part of the deep state!
Noah Feldman earned a Rhodes Scholarship to the Christ Church, Oxford, where he earned a PhD in Islamic Thought in 1994... WTF?
Michael Gerhard wrote a book called Impeachment: What Everyone Needs to Know. So he's just trying to sell more books, he's out of there!
Blog...news site...on FR anymore what’s the difference?
Jonathan Turley is usually a pretty good legal analyst. That said, he’s not above going loony left if he has an ax to grind. His take should be interesting.
Most blogs are just some spanker trying to profit from ripped-off material.
News sites are where the spanker ripped the material off.
Someone has to hold the line and sacrifice for our greater good.
Why should it not be me?
Note the missing qualifier. Trump called the "fake news [press]" the enemy of the people. And it is.
Trust me: listening to 4 law professors in a row is a sure cure for insomnia.
Failed lawyers, the ones who can’t cut it at the courthouse have to main outs;
Go into politics and get almost as rich as the lawyers who can cut it.
Or the really bad ones go teach law.
Turley will probably give a no-spin explanation, while the other three will spin like crazy in favor of the Dems.
