Do it, bring the US military to bear on them on the border or in Mexico and watch the fun.
While suggesting strongly to the cartels that they might want to seek other markets for their wares. I hear Europe is nice this time of year.

The Democrats are concerned this designation would mean they could no longer accept campaign donations from the drug cartels;
Quite a statement

I'd love for us to invade Mexico and clean that whole sh!thole up, cartels and all but the human stampede of Mexicans who would come pouring across the border would be a tsunami. There would be many cartel members in among that stampede.

I’ve heard that allegation made before, and I’m strongly inclined to think it’s true. Still, it would be nice to get more specific information on named public officials.

If the government of Mexico only controls 20% of the country by their own admission, going to war on the cartels is for all intents and purposes going to war with Mexico.

Militarize the border and then sit back and watch it collapse.
To: bitt
Our military only spent about a year in Mexico with an expeditionary force the last time we invaded. Did the trick. We are overdue for another one.

or going to war for Mexico. Helping them reestablish control over their own land.
Personally I just want us to control the border and stay out of other countries.

or going to war for Mexico.
mhehico is totally dependent on us economically. but we can not incite revolution, like iraq.
I think the President is establishing legal strategies against the drug invaders.

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said on Friday that his government was committed to fighting organized crime, seeking to dispel fears that the United States could take matters in its own hands in the fight against drug cartels. It's about time we did.

Mexicans aren’t going to head south. They’re going to make a bee line straight to here. Every Mexican wants to come here. For crying out loud more than half the world wants to come here.

Yeah , well ‘’Old Rough And Ready’’Zachary Taylor should have finished the job and pressed on to Mexico City. We could have annexed Mexico over a hundred and fifty years ago and we wouldn’t have this problem today.

Lopez-Obrador only controls two small area of the country called Mexico - various cartels control all the rest. He’s in their employ in any case.

"While this does not directly give the United States authority for military operations in Mexico, many Mexicans are nervous their northern neighbor could use it as a pretext for a unilateral invention."I think we should proceed with unilateral invention.
