Acting Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Ken Cuccinelli fired back at former Maryland Gov. Martin OMalley on Thursday after the Democrat forced Cuccinelli to leave an event Thanksgiving eve, with Cuccinelli claiming O'Malley's "sad" and "shocking" outburst was so vitriolic his neck veins were "bulging."
Cuccinelli, in a lengthy statement to Fox News, recalled Wednesday nights incident, which took place at the Dublineran Irish pub on Capitol Hill where he and OMalley were attending an event with fellow graduates of Gonzaga College High School before OMalleys shame-invoking tirade forced Cuccinelli to leave.
CUCCINELLI FORCED TO LEAVE BAR AFTER BEING ASSAILED BY MARTIN O'MALLEY
I arrived at The Dubliner to meet with some of my Gonzaga classmates last night, Cuccinelli said in the statement. As I walked up to one of the bars among several in The Dubliner to order my Guinness, I heard screaming and cussing behind me to my left, which I did not immediately take notice of other than the fact that it was louder than everything else in the pub.
Cuccinelli continued: When I turned to look I saw O'Malley and he was obviously screaming at me. For a moment I thought he was trying to be funny, as we've met before, which I thought was strange. It was immediately clear that he was cursing and screaming for real, to the point of veins bulging on his neck.
Cuccinelli added that OMalley had also inspired one or two of his (apparent) buddies to join in the cussing assault, which the Trump official said he attempted to ignore. Cuccinelli said he proceeded to attempt to order at a different bar within The Dubliner, but that OMalley followed him.

Exactly. He had as much right to be in that bar as O'Malley.
I remember when the clown stuck his toe in the water to run for president.
His platform was that he could play the guitar. He also felt it important that everyone saw him without a shirt.
He was a dud as a candidate.
Of course, overall I agree with you here and so glad Trump is not the typical Republican.
I'm just saying there's a time and place for everything. You and I both know if Ken would have responded, there would have been immediate calls for him to resign. Some of Trump's key people have political targets on their backs, even Hillary said Stephen Miller should resign. And Ken is one of the best at what he does, so we can't afford to lose him.
I think running away played into their hands, and the proof of it is that the Dems' fascist tactics have grown increasingly worse and more common.
But Cuccinelli didn’t have to leave. He could have ignored it, and carried on.
But running away is wimpish. He had every right to be in that bar without getting hassled.
Why not punch him in the face
Thats something I think even my usual adversaries here would agree with me on
The incident made the news as it was. Do you really think the MSM would have portrayed things fairly if he'd gotten into a shouting match with O'Malley?
They've shown over and over that they'll flat-out make up things to make the Trump administration look bad.
What would you have suggested he do under the circumstances?
As Mark Twain famously stated.... ‘Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.’
There are times to stand your ground and there are times to walk away. Somehow, as a professional, standing ones ground in a bar against an intoxicated loud mouth seems a poor choice.
Neither option was a great choice but remaining would have elicited a great deal more potential negative consequences and he knew it.
Maybe it went without saying, but O’Malley was pretty likely soused and out of control

Stay there and simply tell him that he had every right to be in that bar as O’Malley, without being hassled, and if he had a problem with that.
What was O’Malley going to do? If O’Malley continued to badger him, O’Malley would look even worse.
As it stands, you can bet the O’Malley fan club at DU just got bigger, and they think of Cuccinelli as a coward, as well.
According to the article, he didn’t leave the bar. He walked over to a different area of the Dubliner.
“Cuccinelli said he engaged in a short conversation and walked away to a separate area of the bar ...”
Add him to The List
He wasn’t ‘playing nice’; in the instance he was acting wisely.
“Yeah, they would have gotten it on video then selectively released whatever would make Cuccineli look bad.”
Prolly never occurred to the R’s to do that. Someone would be offended.
“Sad” and “shocking”? A quick check of my Thesaurus points me to “sick” and “depraved”.
Sounds like the ‘Rats are losing it......
As someone with a bad Latin temper, I have to say Cuccinelli kept the high ground-that is really hard to do when you are already seeing red, but it is never a good idea to get into an altercation in a bar-especially with a guy everyone knows is an ass****-he’d cry foul, run to the media and they would lap up his story of being the poor, intoxicated victim-that said, why wasn’t O’Malley told by the manager of the bar to back off and keep it down or leave-it isn’t like he was the only patron there-who manages the place-AOC?
Haha - when was the last time a government official was arrested like common folk? And you just know these two nancy boys would have done not much more than push and shove anyway. Maybe a beer would have gone over.
