People are gradually getting used to living in an inverted world. For the first time in our history, the upcoming elections are not about a better standard of living or more freedom. They are about secular pietism, a collective devotion to an apparently noble cause, which leads to less affluence and freedom.
Illegal immigration has a negative impact on the labor market, especially low-income Americans, by keeping wages down. Nevertheless, half of our fellow citizens believe that any action taken against illegals is tantamount to sending them to concentration camps. Medicare for all would lead to long waiting times, with the problem being compound by the coverage provided to an undetermined number of illegals. In a country where 85% of people have access to quality health care, this would represent a major downgrade. Socialism is another major electoral theme, and rejecting it in an affluent society would normally be a matter of common sense. However, part of the secular pietist mission is to fight inequality, even if that leads to worse living conditions for the majority, provided that the object of their envy is also harmed.

Truth be known, I think that is where Bloomberg is coming from.
It’s never going to get better by re-electing the same Bush League Republicans who have helped cause this mess.
Trump is the first president in a long time who cares about the country, and wants it to be great again. He has increased job opportunities for Blacks. He recognized the threat from *slamic fundamentalists. He will not do anything to favor the spread of abortion.
For this the left hates him with a passion and is doing everything to get him kicked out of office. They are proposing marxists who will open the borders to m*slims and let them do as they wish.
This truly is insanity.
They are being sent home, where they have friends and family, where they know the language and culture, and have always lived.
The same countries thousands of Americans go to retire.

I have wondered that myself. I would think this is really the first time someone has cut into their cash flow to any significant degree.
Why the asterisk? Why not just call them what they are "moslems"? Not "muslims" as that word is not accurate.
"Muslim" sounds like the Arabic word for "follower of God"
"Moslem" sounds like the Arabic word for "evil person"

Someone suggested years ago that gun control was not at all about safety, but about punishing firearm owners, widely seen as hated conservative.
