Is Bloomberg Just A Scheme to Fund an Anti-Trump Campaign [Vanity]
FreeRepublic ^ | November 25, 2019 | Reno89519

Bloomberg has by all reports near-zero chance of winning the election yet here he is now in officially as a candidate for Democrat party. Since he is self-funding, Will he even meet a debate threshold? I read yesterday that he is committing to spend around $10 BILLION of his money. For what, a losing campaign? Does he really think he can buy the election?

I wonder if his goal is a bit different. Maybe he sees his campaign as a legitimate route to carry out a 24/7 attack on President Trump. Do what the Democrats cannot seem to accomplish. By using his money directly, he runs the show, creates the agenda, picks the Democrat primary winners. Maybe he thinks he can clear the way for a Democrat candidate? Possibly earn a vice=president slot. Is Bloomberg vying to be simply the Democrat party kingmaker?

Your thoughts?

I haven't read anywhere where anyone thinks the Democrat party will welcome and embrace Bloomberg. They have moved so far left that he is simply a rich old white guy stepping to tell today's white-hating anti-American party what to do.

Money talks, will his?

No. Debate participation is based on polls and a certain level of donations.

At least he has dropped the pretense of being a “Republican”.

No one is going to elect Emporer Palpatine president. It doesn't matter what he does or does not do, he is not a factor in anything.

I would offer four observations:

1. Beyond NY and NJ....Bloomberg is not that well known. In the south, even in a primary season...he’d have trouble.

2. He says he’s not running in the first four primaries. At best, I give him a marginal chance of taking four primary wins.

3. Ever watched him give a speech? Wooden character...nowhere near as capable as Al Gore, Bill Clinton, or Bernie. He can’t even stand in the shadow of Obama on speeches.

4. Flipped from being a Democrat, to Republican, to Independent, and back to a Democrat. Go explain that, and ask people how he could flip that much.

Right. Candidate campaigns get the best available ad rates and candidates spending their own money is unlimited. It’s a way to get the best price and quantity of attack ads that aren’t really aimed at promoting an individual candidate.

If he’s not the nominee, WHO will he fund?

No, he’s in it for his own ego. He thinks he’s better suited to tell us how to live than anyone else. Hey Texans, no more “Big Gulp” sodas for you.

I remember when a van with explosives was discovered in Times Square and Nanny Bloomberg’s first announcement was to suspect that it was placed there by an overweight middle aged white guy upset over the passage of Obamacare.

NYC Mayor: Bias Will Not Be Tolerated in Wake oof Times Square Car Bomb Arrest [PC Alert]
Examiner ^ | 05/04/10

Mayor Michael Bloomberg says New York City “will not tolerate any bias” following the arrest of a U.S. citizen from Pakistan in the Times Square car bombing attempt.

Bloomberg said Tuesday that also applies to potential backlash against Muslim New Yorkers.

The mayor said there are “a few bad apples” among any groups. He also cited New York’s long history of accepting cultures from the around the world.

And I had difficulty finding any mention of it in my google searches.

Bloomberg's no fool. He didn't garner over $50 billion of wealth as a fool. He's got a game plan. His money is already making inroads in his pet projects, such as Everytown for Gun Safety. Will there be an unintended consequence to silence these groups else spin them into extensions of his political campaign, which does the same?

Unlike Soros, Bloomberg's money is openly spent.

Watch out for ‘Devil’ Patrick. He could siphon the newly won black votes from Trump (Lowest black unemployment)

I was thinking the same - after all, he’s not giving the Democrats any reason to vote for him. He’s just attacking Trump.

But then it doesn’t matter. Trump is being attacked non-stop anyway by the media, so Bloomberg’s millions won’t even be noticeable.

It doesn’t matter...

Trump is winning re-election handily and things to this #seinfeldimpeachment nonsense, the GOP is easily going to retake the house.

Let Bloomberg burn as much cash as he likes... it won’t matter.

Soros is already on it. There are already two billionaires in the race. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. And sometimes a billionaire with more dollars than sense and an oversized ego is Bloomberg. Then again, sometimes an orange billionaire can be the last best hope for America and the world. Billionaires should be judged by the content of their character, instead of the content of their bank account.

There’s a conspiracy that Bloomberg, not out to win himself, is trying to dry up Biden’s funding in the hope that an electable moderate will enter the race. Bloomberg thinks Biden is a disaster and everyone else is too far left.

My amateur theory: Bloomberg is in race just to muddy the waters, and make a brokered convention more likely. Now, who would benefit from a brokered convention? Why, that would be Hillary.
