Pete Buttigieg’s recent popularity surge in Iowa and New Hampshire has many speculating that President Trump could face a Democratic ticket in 2020 that he doesn’t want and fears the most — the South Bend, Ind., mayor and another candidate recently in the spotlight, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii.
Despite what the “experts” might say, it’s certainly possible. Like weather forecasters and economists, political pundits often are proven embarrassingly wrong. Voters from both parties have a tendency to recalibrate rather quickly, and quite unexpectedly, toward candidates they believe actually might have a chance of winning.
In 2004, for example, Democratic voters threw the preening pundits a curveball when, during the primary process, they suddenly tapped on the brakes, took a much longer and harder look at frontrunner Gov. Howard Dean of Vermont and turned in the slightly more “establishment” direction of Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts.
Four years later, Democratic primary voters most certainly went counterintuitive again when they bypassed the pundit-approved and -predicted candidate of Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York, for relatively unknown Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois.

I was just reading that while the incidence of violent crime declined by 2% nationwide since 2012 when Buttigieg became mayor of South Bend, the rate in South Bend increased by 70%!
I thought there was no way Obama would win. I was sure there was no way he’d get a second term. I feel the same way about Mayor Poofter. I can imagine dims supporting him if for no other reason than to poke us in the eye. They will try to sell him the same way they sold Barry. Could it work again? I really cannot fathom such a person could win here.

On the other hand, they are the only 2 who have any redeeming qualities. St. Pete can communicate, and Tulsi sanely cuts to the chase. They both have a few ultra-left positions that put their odds of both on the same ticket at less than 1%. Less 1000 to 1 is probably closer.
No- to this point, until he’s threatened Graham like an Irish mobster (which, he is)— Biden so sure of the superdelegates he could buy in the primaries, that he advance declares the potential indicted criminal Sally Yates (whom Trump fired for insubordination as ‘acting AG’)... as his VP!!
Biden... BUYDEN, is sure of only that. But no way will he be there in the shape of what is coming against him (both obamaumao and other members of the existing hil-bot/obamaumao corruptocrats in DOJ still there are acting to get rid of Biden, so they are not further exposed themselves on Ukraine, and the russia hoax unraveling). Close to on the ropes- but no one should take a victory lap. Keep up the pressure on the crooks. All should watch out for the next extreme— political violence ala the AntiFA Facist Leftist street enforcers of the radical LEFT and the demorat party. You're absolutely right. I worked for 25 years in uniform in NY State's prison system, with male only inmates, and both Hispanic and Blacks despised the homos in prison. The same can't be any different for those who aren't incarcerated.

Mayor Pete will be sold as smart and nonthreatening to the status quo, Tulsi the same. The Dims MUST make this a woman vs. man election with gender war dialed up to ensure they continue to hold the suburban white woman votes.
The problem they face with any of their candidates is lack of voter enthusiasm. This pairing is included.

That 45% of the electorate you claim is Democrat (you are wrong on that) doesn’t mean a thing if 20% of them are Blacks and Hispanics the men within that 20% won’t vote for a gay, and trust me they won’t.
