It is risky to give Democrats any credit for good sense, but voting for impeachment and taking it to the Senate is the worst of the bad choices they face. Voting for censure would be the least bad for them, although they would still lose the House. voting for impeachment and failing because enough Dem reps fear getting primaries would be worse than that, and a Senate trial could ruin the party for years to come.

Anyhow, I don't call it inevitable just yet.

What is “inevitable” about the projected impeachment vote? There are few if any solid grounds to even draw up the articles of impeachment, and the watered-down language that shall be included would not be convincing to a high school sophomore.

Of course, a good many Democrat Congresscritters operate at a level much lower than that.
