The call was at Lunch in Ukraine. It was early morning in DC. Sondland even made the point in earlier testimony that the President was grumpy....and that he was usually grumpy in the morning. Now how the hell would he know that.
My take....Sondland likes to ad lib......so you have to discount half of what he tells you.
