Holmes was supposed to testify at the public hearing today...Apparently they figured it was way too risky for him to be cross examined so they nixed it and supposedly leaked what they say he claims he heard...
OR Amb Sondland could simply day the guy is lying and that what he said was said didn’t happen.

Now that sounds like absolute BS. They took it too far. Totally unbelievable. There is no way an ambassador would say that.
The first part of cross examination should be a test of the witnesses hearing. Unless the restaurant was utterly silent it seems like it would be nearly impossible to hear the other side of a conversation unless the phone was set to speaker phone mode. Try it some time with your own phone and a couple of friends.
Holmes' story seems about as plausible as some of the witnesses dragged out for the Kavanaugh hearings. Not at all unless you are a kool-aid drinking Democrat.

Or after Holmes makes his statement under oath a test could be set up with another phone of the same type as Ambassador Sondland’s phone to show that Holmes couldn’t possibly have heard whoever was on the other end of the call, and at that point Holmes has a perjury problem.

Let’s see if I have this straight: the Dems will base impeachment on someone who claims he overheard a phone conversation that was not on speakerphone, and cannot be corroborated in any way. Moreover, what he allegedly heard was not illegal in any way. Moreover, this came up - after weeks of controversy - only AFTER all the Dems’ previous angles for impeachment were fizzling.

They’ve never asked the witnesses they’ve already called that simple question.
