SHREVEPORT La. -- Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator and City Councilman Grayson Boucher say they confirmed that Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins pulled city police resources out of assisting with security for President Trump's rally for GOP gubernatorial candidate Eddie Rispone.
And they say it left the U.S. Secret Service in a lurch.
Boucher said after an SPD officer informed him on Wednesday morning, he sought confirmation outside the SPD.
"I was told by several members of law enforcement that this was true. That at about four o'clock yesterday afternoon, the mayor contacted the Secret Service and said we would no longer be participating," Boucher said.

I realize it is just speculation BUT
Conjure up the image of the $hiite$torm that would arise had a WHITE Mayor in Southern City pulled the Security Forces from a BLACK President?
Send out a blast tweet inviting all local NRA members to come on down and give a hand to the Secret Service.
Bring your own guns and ammo.
Deputize them as assistant federal marshals.

The off duty Shreveport police can be brought in (screened by SS) and paid for off duty work (unless there is some law against them doing so, when they are not on the Shreveport clock— it is their right to do so).
What should really happen is pulling all Federal LEO support, no ATF support, no FBI support, no DEA support, no FBI lab, no access to any Federal data (including background investigations for weapons permits - FFLs would not be affected.). As the country’s chief executive he can redeploy those agencies anyway he chooses.
Those who want concealed weapons permits and are unable to get them - vote the fool out. Sometimes it has to rain on the just also; though any gun permit seeker that voted for the fool deserves what he/she gets.
If that’s the case, then it’s unclear why this is even a ‘story’.
Unless, of course, it’s been customary in the past for the SPD to detail help for other events in nearby parishes ?
If so, not extending the same courtesy in this case is obviously due to this mayor’s being a partisan tool.
Maybe the IRS should have a talk with him!
