Effective crowd control in the US may soon include (if it doesn't already) well-trained snipers who drop any protester observed and recorded using lethal force vs LE.

That is a capability they have. One thing you see all over the world but never in the US is rioters throwing Molotov cocktails at the police.

Why? Because they will shoot you. Throwing bricks at US cops will also result in you quickly reaching room temperature.

That is a capability they have.

You raise good points; and it is a given they have the capability.

There remains, of course, the real question of whether sanctuary city administrations, for example, will compromise LE discretion in that regard. Even more, is how anxious green-lighted, street-level LE will be to fire en mass into a crowd just because a brick or cocktail was produced from the center of that crowd.

The formula then would seem to include local approval and abundance of well-placed, leap-frogging overwatch.

There is no question the likes of Antifa are eager to test the limits of our resolve. A few broken heads would suit them just fine, another "Kent State" even better.
