Stick a fork in Liz Warren, Medicare-for-All has cooked her
Boston Herald ^ | November 3, 2019 | Adriana Cohen

Put a fork in Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign —it’s over.

Now that she’s finally released details on her Medicare-for-All plan and its eye-wincing $52 trillion projected price tag, there’s no way that 160 million Americans who like their healthcare plans — including labor unions — will want to see them made illegal.

Nor will any rational citizen want to have critical health-care decisions being made by faceless government bureaucrats who will decide what doctor you can see, and what medical treatment or surgery you’re permitted to get — or not.

If Medicare-for-All is implemented, wave goodbye to consumer choice and say hello to rationed care and longer wait times to get medical treatment and prescription drugs.

But don’t take my word for it, take a glimpse at how socialized medicine is working in neighboring Canada.

Last year the Fraser Institute, an independent Canadian think tank, reported the median wait time to see a general practitioner is 8.7 weeks. To see a specialist is an additional 11 weeks. That’s nearly 20 weeks before a Canadian citizen can get the care they need. Now consider if you or a loved one has a life-threatening illness like cancer where the disease will likely advance while waiting months before the bureaucracy hopefully signs off on treatment.

Gaffes notwithstanding, Joe Biden is poised to benefit politically from Warren’s socialized medicine plan. He now appears like the adult in the room by opposing the elimination of private insurance.

In a statement released Friday, Biden’s campaign slammed Warren for promising her plan won’t raise taxes on the middle class.

“For months, Elizabeth Warren has refused to say if her health care plan would raise taxes on the middle class, and now we know why: because it does. Senator Warren would place a new tax of nearly $9 trillion that will fall on American workers.”

If anyone thinks allowing power hungry socialists to control the entire health-care industry — 20% of the U.S. economy — is a good idea or will go smoothly, just remember that here in Massachusetts, the government couldn’t even get a website to work during the Obamacare rollout.

And who can forget the 2015 inspector general’s report that found that 307,000 veterans may have died waiting for medical treatment at the VA? Not exactly confidence building.

But that’s not all. Warren’s Medicare For All plan will also destroy at least two million jobs. A stark reality that will buoy the campaigns of Biden and Pete Buttigieg, campaigns who by contrast come off as more sensible moderates.

Will we see a future Biden/Buttigieg ticket in the making? Only time will tell.

What we do know right now, is Warren’s days are numbered.

Democrats want to politicize the health care industry to “protect” their voters and punish those who dare to vote Republican.

And we all know there’s that small crowd of practices licking their chops at the amount of fraud that can be lost in such a huge system.

‘What we do know right now, is Warren’s days are numbered.’

appears so...she was on a roll until she had to explain her stance, as happens to so many candidates who rely on nothing but momentum...

‘Finding a good doctor who takes Medicare is NOT EASY!’

frankly, that is not true...

‘They have invested too much in the “White Males are the Root of All Evil” meme ‘

the gay Buttigieg insulates them from that...

‘they don’t dare do anything like this or they will create a viable Green Party challenger.’

I highly doubt that feckless, far left dems will noodle their votes away on a pretty bauble like a Green candidate, not after 2016...

Warren is cooked, Biden is fried and Bernie is half baked.
They’d have more luck opening a soup kitchen than seeking the WH.

Agreed "it's not true".

My husband and I have multiple "good" doctors and they all take Medicare. We also have supplemental insurance that picks up what Medicare doesn't pay.

We can find doctors who take Medicare, they don’t want to take the Ret. Military’s Tricare Life, problem with that is they HAVE TO. Or lose that 20% that Tricare covers, and there is a time frame to file, miss it you lose the 20% as Veteran’s are not required to pay for what you failed to file for.

Unfortunately I think you are correct. This Russian thing the swamp is trying to tag her with means they fear her for some reason. Like you said, she’s “wrapped in an empathetic marketing blanket.”

Once the parade of rat losers all drop out, this person will likely go to the top. Even though she’s a diehard socialist, she’s not left enough for the Hitlery/AOC/Bernie/Schiff/Antifa crowd.

If she does make it to the top, I can see Arkancide in the offing. There is just no way Hitlery will stand for another woman being the first.

You are lucky - in rural Arkansas the doctor shortage is very real. If you don’t drive to Little Rock, Heath Care is down to a Nigerian Doctor or Nurse Practitioner at a Minute Clinic.

I thank the Lord every day that my wife and I, who are both military veterans, have the VA hospital for our medical care.

We each pay a co-pay for our medications ($7.50 each) and actual doctor appointments ($50 each) but this pales in comparison to any medical insurance premiums for private health insurance or even having Medicare deduct $120 a month from our Social Security checks for Plan B care.

And despite all of the bad media reports of VA care (my wife and I are both previous medical industry people), the VA care here in north central Florida is the absolute best comprehensive medical care we have ever received. Bar none.

The only Medicare coverage we have is the mandated (at age 65) Plan A inpatient care which comes at no cost to us. We have both declined Plan B outpatient care because we receive that at the VA facility.

Whether by design or coincidence, the Progtard DildoCrats have been condcuing a circular ambush that, one by one, takes down the most vocal advocates of their most extreme positions on socialism, single-payer (government) health care, higher taxes, gun confiscation, wealth confiscation, open borders, free college/student loan debt forgiveness, and LGBTQIAXYZ?...rights.

One could infer that the DildocCrats have a candidate in the wings that they shall roll out when the current candidates have finished annihilating each other. After being nominated, that candidate will run hard right ti the center as a moderate. If elected that candidate will then implement the most extreme positions that knocked his or her “opponents” out of the primaries. One of their first acts in office will be to confiscate retirement accounts to pay for Social Security.

Many on this board have speculated about one out more of the “usual suspects,” all of whom come with baggage and an extensive electronic and paper trail.

I think they are going to roll out someone “new” with no history or baggage at the convention.

But see the government will force doctors to accept. It will threaten them with license being revoked. Felonies, jail and property being seized. Then to be followed by engineers, architects, nurses. ...you name it. The government is the enemy of the people.
SOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins.
Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness;

the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices.

The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions.

The first is a patron, the last a punisher.

Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one . . .
For were the impulses of conscience clear, uniform and irresistibly obeyed, man would need no other lawgiver; but that not being the case, he finds it necessary to surrender up a part of his property to furnish means for the protection of the rest . . . — Thomas Paine, Common Sense (1776)
