Catherine Herridge, a Fox News Channel veteran who has been with that network since it was founded in 1996, is moving to rival CBS News.
She will work as a senior investigative correspondent out of Washington, CBS News said, and will start in November.
Herridge is the second long-serving Fox News journalist to leave the Fox Corporation-owned cable-news outlet in recent weeks, and her departure may give a new boost to recent speculation that the networks news-side employees have grown frustrated during a period when its opinion hosts have largely used their programs to lend support to President Donald Trump and his administration, sometimes criticizing news reports.
Shepard Smith, another long-serving Fox News journalist who was seen as the networks main news anchor, surprised viewers earlier this month by announcing his departure on a Friday-afternoon broadcast. Smith had tangled on air with opinion host Tucker Carlson.
Herridges move is said to have been in the works for several weeks and is not tied to Smiths exit.

It will be interesting to see if CBS allows her to report the real news. Sounds like CBS is trying to burnish its credibility.
Oh, and remember the time Megyn Kelly went to the Left?
The same will happen to Catherine and Sean Duffy.
The MSM will use and quickly discard and I won’t give a care.
It has none to burnish.
She doesn’t have to be a lib.
She just has to be willing to shut up for a paycheck.
Whatever her reasons, I hope she is happy. Ive enjoyed her and her great investigating.
I just have to ask...knowing the kind of grief and conflict Sharyl Attkisson experienced at CBS, what makes her think that she will be treated any differently?
Big checks talk I guess.
THAT WOULD BE GREAT!!!!!
What a shame, she is so good. She should have been given whatever she wanted, that kind of integrity is priceless.
Notice we cant get rid of Jennifer Griffeys, the blood thirsty harridan who would be willing to sacrifice our last kid t keep the wars going.
So if she comes out a Anti Trump lefty on SeeBS will you be shocked?
SHAME ON FOX...SHAME! She was the BEST reporter they had. Boy their ratings are really going to tank. Personally, I consider this major...I dont and wont watch CBS, so Ive lost her.
Doesnt sound that way to me.
news-side employees have grown frustrated during a period when its opinion hosts have largely used their programs to lend support to President Donald Trump and his administration, sometimes criticizing news reports.
How’d it work out for Sharyl Attkisson?
So THAT’S why Melissa hosted the couch thing yesterday.
I bet Ms. Atkinson has no problem looking herself in the mirror each the morning.
Right, so she could go to a network with a greater leftward tilt.
Jeez, now I’m as bad as Hannity...Ms. Attkisson...
Catherine Herridge was a good reporter, but perhaps professional skill was not the only thing being considered by Fox. She probably wanted a feature show or a more hefty salary, but Fox chose not to offer these choices. Why?
I’m going to sound shallow, but maybe Fox News considered Catherine too old, too haggard looking to offer her even more face time on the air. I have thought this for many years. Catherine struck me as the kind of strong personality who would have taken offense and sued had she enough evidence that she lost out on advancement opportunities because she’s not young or glamorous.
Didn’t Greta Van Sustrern sued another network for the same thing? And Greta got plastic surgery later on anyway. Fox News Women tend to sue- a lot, when they don’t get their way.
Double dipping would be my guess. She probably qualifies for some retirement at Fox and wants to get paid elsewhere for a bit.
She better put her investigations away and start reading DNC releases.
