'Extremely disturbing': Democrats alarmed over Lt. Col. Vindman's testimony on Trump-Ukraine call
NBC News ^ | 10/29/2019 | Alex Wong

Posted on 10/29/2019 11:15:32 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Top Democrats at the deposition of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the top Ukraine expert on the National Security Council, said his testimony Tuesday was “extremely disturbing” and praised him for appearing despite attacks from the White House.

Acting House Oversight Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y, told NBC News she found Vindman’s remarks “extremely, extremely, extremely disturbing” as she left the deposition. Maloney refused to answer any other questions about Vindman’s testimony.

Vindman, appearing voluntarily under congressional subpoena, was set to tell members of Congress conducting an impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump that he was on the phone call between Trump and Ukraine’s leader in which Trump asked for an investigation into the Bidens — and that he raised concerns about it.

Vindman considered Trump’s request that Ukraine investigate his political rivals so damaging to American national security that he reported it to a superior, according to his opening statement obtained by NBC News.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a member of the House Oversight Committee who was present for the deposition, told NBC News that Vindman was a “very credible” witness and said his testimony "corroborated the testimony of other witnesses" that "really drew a direct line to the President, and those around him and their interest in withholding foreign aid through Ukraine that was vital, as well as insisting on investigations into Biden."

Vindman’s testimony, she said, has "actually filled in more of the puzzle pieces."

Wasserman Schutlz said the Republicans present for the deposition were trying to get Vindman to reveal the identity of the whistleblower.

"What the Republicans are trying to do very clearly in their questioning is try to front door or back door Lt. Col. Vindman into revealing who the whistleblower is, even though in his testimony he says he doesn't he didn't know," she said.

THIS PERSON THOUGHT IT WAS HORRIBLE THAT THE PRESIDENT WOULD WANT TO KNOW ABOUT BILLIONS OF DOLLARS GOING TO A FORMER VICE PRESIDENT’S SON.

Does the military have standards on IQ numbers, or do double digits count...

Vindman’s testified...

“I was worried about the implications for the U .S . government’ s support of Ukraine. I realized that if Ukraine pursued an investigation into the Bidens and Burisma, it would likely be interpreted as a partisan play which would undoubtedly result in Ukraine losing the bipartisan support it has thus far maintained.” —Alexander Vindman

His family reportedly moved him out of Ukraine to another European country in 1979. When did they actually come to the United States? He’s only 43 or 44 years of age.

Okay. It appears that Vindman’s family landed in New York in 1979.

He graduated from Binghamton University in New York—very radically liberal school. He attended ROTC there and received his commission from Cornell University.

RE: I realized that if Ukraine pursued an investigation into the Bidens and Burisma, it would likely be interpreted as a partisan play

Heck they’re disturbed by this, I am also disturbed by this but with a DIFFERENT reason.

If there is evidence of corruption by the Bidens, should the US government just let it go and ignore it simply because ONE PARTY will be displeased?

Therefore, all one has to do to escape investigations into one’s possible corrupt dealings is to run for President?

Where is adherence to the rule of law here?

Here is an interesting question...

It took Biden awhile to decide if he was going to run. I wonder now if his decision was based on investigations that he knew would occur. Consider:

William Barr releases Mueller report in March/April, 2019. Barr says he will investigate origins of investigation.

Biden announces run April 25, 2019.

Hmmmmmm

He is clearly an anti Trumper. He is a POS for saying what he is saying
but since his testimony is only his opinion and “concerns” there is no lie.

LAUGH BREAK OF THE DAY: Democrats "alarmed" over Lt. Col. Vindman's testimony on Trump-Ukraine call.

BOL.......rotflol......... Democraps crack me up.

==================================================

REALITY CHECK When word got out that Trump was checking on the Bidens' activities in Ukraine,
wanting accountability for US tax dollars, the Swamp went code red.

Trump was on it like white on rice----he saw that US tax dollars were blanketing the Ukraine----
circling around from the US Treasury, to Ukraine and back into DEM coffers.

A frickin' DNC slush fund.

<><> eager for new sexual conquests, Hunter Biden got going as the bag man,
<><> Burisma was the laundry,
<><> US tax dollars were funneled back to Joe, Obama, and the obedient Swamp.

The Dems saw their Ukraine money pot dwindling and were about to get caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

Now that's alarming.

Trump figured it out, ergo impeachment was launched to protect their dirty deeds.

TALKING POINTS---
<><>Col Vindman admitted he shared the read-outs of President Trump’s call Ukrainian President Zelenzky with several others.
<><> Vindman said the people sharing were relevant, had some sort of "need to know" and had proper security clearance.
<><> this matters b/c presidential phone calls are highly classified.
<><> if a subordinate shared with people without a "need to know" that would be a potential violation of law.
<><> Vindman's leaking may have violated US Code statute 18 USC 798.
<><> At the hearing Chairman Schiff repeatedly shut down lines of questioning including who Vindman talked to after the July 25th phone call.

.... a former Bush DOJ official no less, told Fox News’ “Ingraham Angle” that he found it “astounding”
that Ukranian-born Vindman, a US govt employee, would be advising Ukrainian officials against Pres Trump’s interests.....

It’s becoming clearer why Trump was compelled to take the steps he did. The Bidens could have been in on this, as well.

What we have here are some very serious claims against US government insiders that could involve elected officials, as well.
<><> Did Vindam withhold exculpatory evidence while testifying?
<><> did Vindam aid and abet the alteration of official government documents?

Keep in mind...falsifying official documents is the preferred criminal method to cover-up larger crimes.

Passing copies of false documents as authentic can also involve forgery and other instances of serious criminality.

Falsifying official documents is usually done in connection with broader criminal aims, such as:
<><> extortion,
<><> government fraud,
<><> tax evasion,
<><> money laundering,
<><> financing terrorism.

Falsifying official documents is generally classified as a felony. This means that a person charged with falsifying documents may be subject to legal penalties:
Having to pay a monetary fine and,
incarceration in a federal prison facility for 5-10 years (no parole).

If government documents or govt authorities were involved, the legal penalties may be more severe. Legal penalties may increase with repeat offenses.

More on falsifying government documents is outlined in the Crimes Act of 1958.

It is entirely possible that the Bidens, Vindam, and other unnamed individuals, may have violated other federal laws that might include, but may not be limited to:

<><> Title 18, U.S.C., Section 241 - Conspiracy Against Rights It further makes it unlawful for two or more persons to go in disguise on the highway or on the premises of another with the intent to prevent or hinder his/her free exercise or enjoyment of any rights so secured.
<><> Title 18 U.S.C. §1341, Mail Fraud, 18 U.S.C.§1001, Presenting a False Document to an Agent of the US Government for funding (may involve several felonies and could include forgery);
<><> 18 U.S.C.§1027 False statements and concealment of facts in relation to documents required by ERISA enacted 1974 and other possible offenses including civil and/or criminal RICO violations.
<><> 18 U.S.C. §§1961-68 (RICO Act)18 U.S.C. §1001 (making false Statements to Agents of the US Government,
<><> 18 U.S.C. §241(Conspiracies Against Civil Rights). Violation of Civil Rights under Color of law and conspiracy. Conspiring with others to violate 4th amendment rights.
<><> Possibly full investigations centering on RICO conspiracies under 18 U.S.C. §1962(c) could be warranted because (1) the persons (2) were employed by or associated with a public enterprise (3) that engaged in or affected interstate commerce and that (4) the persons operated or managed the enterprise (5) through a “pattern” (6) of racketeering activity, and (7) the taxpayers were injured by reason of the “pattern” of racketeering activity.
<><> Alleged Offenses could include Violation of Rights – which prohibits in relevant part, “two or more persons (from conspiring) to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District
<><> Title 18 U.S.C. §2 41 – Conspiracy Against Constitutional mandates in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of having so exercised the same . . .” See, 18 U.S.C. §241.

Taxpayers should demand the following agencies commence investigations at once:
<><> FBI — Wire Fraud Division
<><> IRS-Fraud Unit
<><> Department of Justice’s Office of the Inspector General,
<><> Department of Commerce’s Office of Inspector General.
<><> DOJ’s Criminal Division— Public Integrity Section
<><> DOJ Criminal Division—Organized Crime and Gang Section.
