Alberta actually brings something to the table, and you’d be hard pressed to find better people to make patriots. Comparing Alberta to those other places is an injustice.

As an Albertan at heart, I would NEVER want my beloved province to become a U.S. state.

As bad as Canada's government is, it's really quite dopey and powerless compared to the behemoth known as the U.S. Federal government.

If I am forced to choose between Washington and Ottawa, I'll take Calgary. :-)

I did NO such thing. No comparison was made like you claim.

It does NOT matter what Alberta “brings” to the table. In today’s PC “everyone is equal” crap that DOMINATES ALL WESTERN COUNTRIES we would have very shaky legs to refuse the others. The overwhelming scenario would be you accepted Alberta, you’ve gotta accept the others too. In the “name of democracy” you understand of course.

Keep in mind that Both DC and Puerto Rico WANT statehood and P.R. has actually VOTED for statehood!

It’s time to think beyond the end of our noses and wise up.
