. Attorney John Durham intends to interview former CIA Director John Brennan as part of his investigation into U.S. intelligence agencies’ activities in the Trump-Russia probe, according to NBC News.
Brennan told NBC News, where he is an analyst, that both he and James Clapper, the former director of national intelligence, are sought for interviews with Durham’s investigators. The interviews, should they occur, would signal that Durham is expanding his investigation.
Attorney General William Barr appointed Durham to oversee an inquiry into U.S. agencies’ Trump-related intelligence-gathering activities earlier this year. Barr said he was not satisfied with official explanations about the origins of the investigation into possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russian government.
The FBI opened an investigation on July 31, 2016 into whether Trump associates were colluding with the Russian government to influence the 2016 election. The special counsel’s investigation found no evidence of a conspiracy or that any Trump associates acted as agents of Russia.
But Brennan, a staunch critic of President Donald Trump and Barr, has fiercely defended the investigation of the Trump campaign. He is also questioning the legal basis for the Durham probe, which he called “bizarre.”
“I don’t know what the legal basis for this is,” he told NBC News.
“I’m very comfortable with everything I was involved in,” he added.
Barr has said little in public about the investigation, but it reportedly centers on FBI and CIA activities before and during the Trump-Russia collusion investigation. Durham is also reportedly looking into what involvement foreign governments might have had in intelligence-gathering against Trump associates.
The Durham probe has picked up steam in recent weeks, with Barr and Durham visiting Italy in September, reportedly to collect information about Joseph Mifsud, a Maltese professor who had contacts with former Trump adviser George Papadopoulos.

If you’re talking about subpoenas from congress, I think they can be enforced only by holding someone in contempt of congress. If you’re referring to anything coming out of “impeachment”, those aren’t subpoenas at all, only threatening letters. A subpoena from a US Attorney or a grand jury impaneled by a US Attorney carries the full weight of the DOJ.
Clapper and Brennan would be fools to agree to questioning under oath by Durham and Barr. Durham and Barr already know the answers to the questions they will be asking.
Clapper and Brennan will be lying under oath or admit to their criminal behavior. Their attorneys will never allow them to answer any questions.
Even one lie and throw the book at them. What comes around goes around.
“A lot of Trump’s people have refused to comply with subpoenas and none of them are in jail yet. I don’t see Brennan and Clapper coming voluntarily.”
Did they pass a vote in the House to impeach the President? (In This Congessional session, not the one in October 1998!)
Is it a real Supoena? Or Faux Supoenas/Supoena-like letters from greasy Congressional Democrats conducting a dog and pony show among piles of barnyard litter?

If either one of them lies about when they took a piss, then indict them for lying to federal investigators. Good for the goose, good for the gander. Maybe do an 0-Dark:30 raid on their homes, for good measure.

The Mueller team went after numerous targets with the same scorched earth tactics: play ball or we will ruin your life.
If the Barr/Durham investigators play pattycake, they will get nowhere. Start with something concrete. I've always thought the certification of the Steele dossier as "verified," in the submission to the FISA Court, would be a good place to begin. Even a squishy DC jury should understand fabrication of evidence and lying to the court. Let the defendants contemplate spending the rest of their lives in prison, and go from there.

Awhile back Brennan said he acted in some cases on bad information given to him. He was already backpedalling then.
He and Clapper and the others who are targets of this probe, are squirming in their seats and lawyering up. They know what's coming because they were involved.
Don't investigators interview the prime suspects last because they already know the facts and what they did? They don't start their investigation with the real bad guys.
So the fact that these guys are being interviewed now, means Durham already has the goods on them.
No one cares.
